Hermitage of Braid and Blackford Hill Local Nature Reserve
A piece of paradise inside the city. Easy to reach. Easy to walk. Well maintained. There is a small lake just at the entrance full of birds and plants. Fresh and clean air walking down the woods. Amazing path with a dog or with children.

Hermitage of Braid and Blackford Hill Local Nature Reserve
It was a pleasure to have walked the length of the nature reserve. I went there right after dropping my wee ones at school on a Thursday morning. Most people were nice and exchanged brief hellos.Several people were out with their dogs, I saw a family having a birthday hangout with their kids, a couple of runners and cyclists, and some squirrels.Very large and indeed well reserved.

Worth a visit just for the great views of Edinburgh, Arthur's Seat and Edinburgh Castle.

We've only been round part of it, but the leaves are so beautiful at this time of the year (as you can see!). There is no sit down restaurant where we were, but there are some great (dog friendly) eateries nearby. We look forward to exploring part of the park near the observatory soon!

Great quiet place to walk at the edge of Edinburgh centre. Larger than one expects with a nice set of options connecting with Blackboard Hill and surroundings.Also h have option of good walk back to town via Morningside and Meadows.

Great place to go for a walk, specially with your dog. The views are amazing and the place is normally not crowded.
