Princess Alexandra Hospital Birthing Unit

Gave birth to my daughter on 13th August and even though my birth ended up being slightly more complicated than initially planned, all of the midwives, MCA’s and doctors were incredible. I was given the best treatment even though we were in the middle of a doctors strike. We felt so safe and looked after for the 4 days we were in the maternity unit, the Princess Alexandra and HERA midwives will always hold a special place in my heart.

Through this review I wanted to thank a lady called Simone, she is at the midwife section, she were looking after my wife like she was her sister, she is very helpful, she explains everything detailed and she is funny. The 5 stars review are for her. If all the doctors were like her, the world would have been much better. Thank you Simone, god bless you.

Hi I been assisted during the pregnancy of my wife by this hospital and everything it was smoothly, the staf from MDAU and TRIAJ so welcoming and they look after my wife big time, any issues we have they was dealing with it straight away. They didn’t let you leave unwell home never, so we glad because we chose this hospital for our baby, is true it is few nurses I did called (labour nurses) they don’t know to change a baby but you can tell them they do something wrong and other ones it will do it right o rectify the issue, apart from that it was great, thanks for everything and thanks for keep looking after us.

I had my birth in the labour ward at my own choice but was initially planning to go to the birthing unit. I also had a change of heart at one point and opted for a home birth as well. So I can truly say I tried and tested all options! The service from all midwives and support staff was just phenomenal. I would have no hesitation being in the princess Alexandra’s midwive’s care again. Thank you so much everyone ♥️

My wife gave birth to our baby girl via c-section at the Princess Alexandra Hospital birthing unit. She requested a gentle c-section and the surgical team did what they could to honour (or atleast acknowledge) her requests in her birth plan, the anaesthetist was excellent. The level of care and support she received in the Samson Ward was nothing short of world class. From Midwives, Nurses to Lactation specialists we were amazed by how much effort their team were willing and are still willing to go to help my wife and baby get off to the best start. Two midwives in particular I believe deserve special mention, Molly and Sherisse who made it their mission to assist my wife to breastfeed. I had a particularly pleasant experience with Amanda who did the physical examination on our baby post birth. Thank you and well done to the birthing team at Princess Alexandra Hospital.

I have had 2 fantastic birth experiences on Birthday Unit, 2013 and 2018. The team always strived to help any way they can. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend PAH for low and high risk pregnancies.

Been waiting since October last year for test appts to come through after multiple miscarriages. tried calling, automated msg says to leave a voice msg, upon pressing 2, it tells you to email - no option to voice msg, so did that, email’s aren’t deliverable. Terrible service on top of having seen a rude and unprofessional dr in the first place.

So grateful to the staff that looked after my girlfriend during her pregnancy and after , my girlfriend had a c - section and they done amazing ! They was all so helpful and lovely, thanks to the NHS ! We're all so lucky to have this wonderful care. I highly recommend this unit , these midwives are hard working reliable , communicative and know what they are Doing , thank you for delivering my beautiful son and looking after my angel . Do not go here to have your baby staff are rude ,lie to you and generally do not care ,dreadful needs to be looked into to improve quality of care for both mum and baby

I had the best experience. The level of care is very high. I felt safe and calm. Which I though I wouldn’t. They are there 24/7 for you. Every second you need anyone. They will give the best care and attention. I had a serious case so Highly recommend this hospital.
