A small museum and art gallery with information about the local area. It also has a cafe and shop.

Nice for little walk around to see some historical stuff along with George Elliott's life collection.

Great little place to visit. Compact so you can do this in a couple of hours. The museum is well laid out and very informative on the history of this place. Do go and look at the story of the gurkha soldier, who now lives in this region according to their information. Upstairs has an art collection, which is well laid out with good signage. Helpful informative staff who are very happy to tell you anything you might want to know. Very refreshing as have been to some places where they cannot be bothered. Do have a cream tea. Served so professionally by a lovely guy who works there and has such good customer care

Very good for a small museum. Free to go round. Nice food at the museum for a good price

Visited the cafe and felt compelled to write a review. despite looking small from outside it is deceptively big once inside. The staff have managed to create a lovely atmosphere. Nick and Thalia (owner and waitress) were so friendly and really made you feel welcome. The food is great value and although we only had the Panini's, they were really tasty and well presented. I love that you are able to wander into the museum from the cafe and despite being busy, the food and drinks arrived relatively quickly. It's a great place to pop in for a coffee or a snack if you happen to be in Riversley park. Customer service seems to be a forgotten art in most of the cafes around Town and it's a pleasure to find somewhere where the customer is treated so well

Went to see the costumes from the TV series Gentleman Jack. Excellent. Viewed rest of the Museum's exhibitions which were very good, interesting and informative

Lovely art gallery and museum. Friendly staff and lovely cafe. All set in the beautiful park.

Been there lots specially the cafe! Wheelchair friendly too! There was new stuff in one of the rooms too I met some friends there! Lovely fresh snacks!

Enjoyed the art exhibitions, and also the George Eliot artefacts and replica drawing room. Good value cafe too.
