Today I finished the two day course making a chefs knife. It was a fantastic experience. James is a top bloke and excellent instructor and guide, ably assisted by Dan. Each step of the knife-smithing process was clearly communicated, with James demonstrating each step and on hand to guide us through the process. We all finished the course with incredible knives that I for one, will cherish for many years to come.I really couldn’t recommend James and The Boneyard more.

Had the pleasure of joining today for the one day viking knife workshop, what an incredible experience! Despite having never worked with metal before I left with a knife that I'm so so proud of, and had just the best day. James was top notch - personable, attentive, and really knew his way around a set of tongs!Anyone on the fence about giving this a go I can't recommend it enough - For the end product, the quality of instruction, and most of all for the experience itself, the course was a steal. I will 100% be coming back and can't wait!

Had fun at the forge on the intro half-day. James was an excellent teacher - patient with us amateurs and approachable with any questions, however simple. I was very proud of my (wonky) efforts! I have been recommending Boneyard to friends and will keep them top of mind for any commission work in future. Go - you'll have a great time!

Recently made a Knife on a 2 day workshop with James and enjoyed every minute of it. It’s a very unique experience and a great process

I had a brilliant time doing the 2 day knife-making workshop. I've come away with an amazing (and razor sharp) knife which my friends and family can't believe I actually made. Can't recommend this enough, I will be back!

We spent the morning (and early afternoon) making hooks and 'Viking knives'. We were complete beginners to smithing, but we were hungry for more by the end.- Our instructor was friendly and knowledgeable. We did 95% of the work- he instructed and made a few taps here and there to keep us on the right path.- I appreciate that safety was prioritized.- This is a great activity for adults and older teens.- The location is a short walk from the Strawberry Hill station. It is also very close to a scenic portion of the Thames. A non-smithing member of our party had a pleasant walk along the river when the hammering got too much.- A grocery store is also a few minutes away.Thank you so much for an unforgettable experience!

Just completed the 2 day knife forging course. Had a great time turning a blank piece of steel into a beautiful knife. James is a top guy who gives very clear instructions so that myself and the other participants could do every stage from start to finish. First class!!!

Fantastic experience doing the 2 day course. James is a great teacher and you get the full hands on experience. I walked away with a brilliant knife that I hand-forged myself with fire, an anvil and a hammer. Highly recommend!

Fantastic course I did the 2 day chefs knife course ! James and Daniel were so brilliant! they made sure we all had a great time, whilst also making sure we all left with a great knife to last a lifetime.They both showed a massive expertise and passion for what they do without making it feel inaccessible.I’ve spent the last couple of days since recommending it to friends and family and also planning my next attempts.If you’re thinking about doing it just go for it ! It’s worth it.
