The Dutch Foodie

Marianne cooked dinner for 6 of us earlier this week at our house in Kent to celebrate my wife's 40th birthday. She designed a great menu for us tailored to the fact that my wife is German. Most importantly, the standard of the food was excellent. But also it was a pleasure to watch Marianne go quietly and efficiently about the food preparation (albeit seated on the other side of our kitchen). All in all, we (literally) could not rate Marianne more highly. And when you think (versus going out for dinner) that there is no minicab stress, no paying well over the odds for wine, and no babysitting, the marginal cost of dining at home is really pretty insignificant, never mind you get to choose the menu AND you don't have the annoying wait at the end of the meal to wait for the card machine to come around.

Recently we booked Marianne Hospel (the Dutch Foodie) to cook a special dinner for a family gathering (10 persons in all). The result was a superb dinner enjoyed greatly by all those present. With my family that is no mean achievement!The service was excellent, efficient and appropriately paced for the occasion. Marianne carried out her role with great charm and good humour.When the occasion arises, we'd be very happy to hire her again.

Marianne is fantastic! We have enjoyed the pleasure of Marianne's amazing cooking skills for a couple of special birthdays. We gave her a brief and she topped it each time. Every course was a delight to the senses. Nothing was too much trouble in terms of dietary considerations and the whole process was a pleasure. Marianne has a vast repertoire of cuisines that she can cook, and it was all presented beautiful. Our kitchen was spotless afterwards too which was an added treat! thank you Marianne!

My team and I absolutely loved our cooking class with Marianne. A fantastic couple of hours, creating a gorgeous two course meal (Indonesian Dutch fusion) that I would have NEVER thought to try to cook or try at all, had we not taken part.Marianne is attentive, thorough and very patient, creating a friendly and relaxed atmosphere from the start of the virtual class. If you want a fun cooking class experience and a delicious, authentic meal at the end of it, I would absolutely recommend a cooking class with the Dutch Foodie.

Marianne has been a private chef for us and our guests twice and the nights have become very popular amongst our group of friends. We came across the Dutch Foodie while looking for a change from our local restaurants without the need to drag ourselves in and out of London. Having her visit our home was an absolute pleasure and priveledge. The diversity in Marianne’s food, her never ending development of dishes and her knowledge of tastes and textures impressed us and all our guests. Thank you for making the whole process easy and being so lovely, we can’t wait to rebook!

Wow - what an amazing cook-along at home" experience! We've known Marianne for a while but had never managed to get her to come and do a private chef experience for us. Then lockdown happened

Marianne came to cook for a special dinner for 6 at our lovely rented holiday house. Menu choice was wide, and she arrived promptly on the day. Food was plentiful and beautifully cooked.As we were in a large farmhouse kitchen diner, Marianne remained completely unobtrusive throughout her preparation, we hardly knew she was there. She served everything with a friendly smile, and afterwards cleared up leaving the kitchen area spotless. Would highly recommend!

I booked Marianne for our 10th wedding anniversary. We were in lockdown. Then my birthday. Lockdown. 11th wedding anniversary, yet another lockdown, and then finally, miraculously, we finally had the long awaited dinner for this year’s birthday! And it was well worth waiting for too. The food was both imaginative and delicious, and Marianne took full account of my husband’s anosmia in tailoring the menu to our personal tastes. Her portions are extremely generous, and I think she left our kitchen cleaner than she found it. A delightful experience that we hope to repeat at some point in the future.

Hubby and I signed up to take one of Marianne's cooking classes to support her efforts to help the Ukraine. But we had such a great time cooking together with Marianne's fabulous instruction. And everything tasted so yummy! We will be back. Thanks, Marianne!!!

What a treat to have Marianne come to our home and Cook a beautiful meal for my husband’s birthday. We have a one month old baby so it was perfect to be in our home. Marianne was so flexible and helpful when choosing the menu. The food was delicious and we really appreciated her wine pairing recommendations too. I couldn’t recommend her highly enough.
