Lovely little place to sit down out of the crowds, friendly happy people, definitely recommend!

2nd day in Devon, and I so wanted a cream tea. I was bewilded when I was handed a cardboard box and two cups of tea in cardboard cups. We sat down and opened the box. In side was to two scones that had a sponge texture and as plain as anything. Jam and cream and two wooden knives. We had to open out the box and use it as our plates. How can a huge chain like this get away with serving a cream tea in Devon this way. I was so disappointed. The girl who took our order tried to be pleasant but you could tell she didn't want to be there and the lad who handed me the box never even give me eye contact he was like an A I His face was so miserable. Clearly neither enjoyed there jobs and no wonder bet they get fed up with people moaning about the cream teas. Lesson learnt I won't go back to a Warrens bakery if I can help it. No photo taken as it wasn't worth it but I wish I had done now.

Lovely atmosphere despite 1 customer moaning it used to be a corniche bakery

Staff picking up seving trays from the floor and putting them back in service without washing them. Yukk.
