Union Bridge
The bridge connected Scotland and England. It was made for horse carrying, but later vehicles as.well. it had undergone recent renovation and it can have one vehicle at a time. It is the first chain link bridge in Europe and the oldest vehicle carrying a bridge in the world. A must visit if in Berwick. Not far from the city.

A piece of history in the Scottish Borders. Nice to be able to walk over the Tweed passing from England to Scotland and back again. Not a lot to do but admire the recent rebuilt bridge back in action.

Union Bridge
Interesting chain link suspension bridge. The oldest in the world and when opened in 1820 the longest. There is a weight limit and bollards to prevent vehicles that are too wide driving on it, quite a lot of scrapes showing on the bollards!

Visited to see the bridge after the rebuilding had been completed. Looks great, much more solid and doesn't move when a car drives over.The area around the bridge is very tidy with a small parking area at each side. Well worth a visit.

An old bridge. One side is in England the other is in Scotland. Beautifully restored in 2023.Must visit if you are in Berwick.

A fantastic bit of engineering, you can drive across, 1 car at a time and with a 3T weight limit. There are no brown signs directing you to it. There are places to park so you can get out and walk over or under. There is an information board on the English side and a statute either side. Worth reading up about before visiting

Excellent the detail in the statues are amazing the work that has went into them alone never mind the bridge, watching the heron ducks and fish from the bridge was amazing. The restoration of the bridge is fantastic.Well worth a visit.

Union Bridge
This little place is well worth a visit and a drive over this beautiful bridge which has recently been refurbished. Not to mention the wonderful chain honey farm up the road within a walk distance and some lovely river walks by the look of it too. There's a great cafe at the farm and a little gift shop making your visit almost a day out and thoroughly enjoyable.
