Very helpful staff. To be honest I had no idea where to start looking for historical records, and they helped a lot. On first entry you need ID to obtain the security card to access the site - which was unexpected, but a straight forward process.

I am looking forward to another visit to PRONI, I have only been once before and found that the staff were absolutely brilliant, very helpful and took a real interest in helping me retrieve the information I needed for my project! Big Thank you!

A wonderful place for historic records and it also hosts events from time to time. Lots of details about old NI and the people who lived here.

Eugene was very compassionate and kind when working with my 82 father, as we traveled from the US to discover our Irish heritage. He went above and beyond to assist us on our journey

This is the main reason I came to Belfast. Quick registration with a 10 year visitors pass. Excellent building. Very sleek, very organized. Rolls of microfilm. Books with cemetery headstone inscriptions, loads of directories, even a few from the mid 1800s. It's a dream. 10/10, am definitely going out of my way to visit again. Staff very helpful and thorough in explanation. What to know before goingNo bags, coats or pens in the search rooms. Can all be left in secure lockers by the entrance. Have your information written down or typed. Laptops allowed. Be sure to bring a valid photo ID to receive your Vistors pass.Pass will include present photo of you, so be prepared to look your best.

Very confuinsg and unhelpful system by using A central Government telephoneWhen asked a question said I can not answer that question but refused to give me a telephone number where ti could be answeredA very unhelpful scheme in Northern Ireland which would not even eb countenanced anywhere else using a single number for such a large service and refusing to do a anything to help a questioner

Called today for the first time. Had no idea what to do but the staff there could not have been more helpful! Only called to get copies of some documents relating to my late father needed by my solicitor but will definitely call again to do some family research as I had such a good experience. Well done.!
