Great surface, but a £3 cover charge is a bit excessive seeing as there aren't any toilet facilities open anywhere on site

Churchill Playing Field
Just one of several locations in the area frequented by dog owners and walkers.Plenty of room for ball throwing and chasing, to keep the most energetic dogs happy. Bins are available to encourage the picker uppers.There are three football pitches marked out and, at the time we were there, the cricket square was being mowed and marked out.There is a comprehensive and well equipped play area for children, and an athletics track for the serious athletes.There is a modest-sized car park, in which a very nice hot drinks dispensing van is parked during weekends and school holidays. Recommended location for so many activities.

NTC still needs to remove damaged and now dead trees around the far end of the cricket pitched area. Walking hazard due to tree roots now exposed along the grassed area beside Holywell Ave. North shields running facilities now look very austere as due to vanished area there is roller screens all over the ground level. Council workers close the only block of toilets open for public use at 4.30 pm . At least the field area is fairly tidy, not much litter visible on the afternoon of excercing the dog.

Fantastic green space for everyone. We walk our dog but there's weekend football for adults, a running track & even foitball/running around activities for the very littlies (we stood & watched a football type session for kids of maybe 4/5/6 yrs it looks HUGE fun & great for them) Love this place.

Went to do a track race here. Nice area with ample parking and a big field for your dog if he/she/it doesn't mind going in circles. The turn in for parking is just at the bridge which crosses over the railway.Sometimes they have ice-cream vans so if that's what your into then pray to the ice cream gods that they're there when you arrive.

Only use this place for the car park which could do with the pot holes fixing. There is a kids playing area with swings, slides etc. A running track. Cricket and football pitches and plenty of dog walkers

Churchill Playing Field
Love going here and seeing all the dogs. Well kept and there's always something going on with a coffee cart and ice cream van making a regular appearance. A lovely field and park to go with the kids or dogs
