Visited today and left with a car load of plants/shrubs/compost/etc and a small cherry tree. It was well worth calling in and we will return.Prices are very reasonable, access is good, the nursery is well laid out and clearly well tended. Do not expect the flourishes of a large garden centre or you will be disappointed. If you want to choose from a good selection of plants and are not interested in the ancillary/tangential products on sale at the large places then come here.It will not harm if you are happy to throw sticks for Megan - a well trained collie (?) but clearly believes customers are there for her entertainment!

Unfortunately the earlier reviews relate to the previous ownership. The new owner Anna Allen and team have made the nursery a must visit for new and experienced gardeners alike. Excellent range and quality of plants and trees; knowledgeable and helpful staff and even ice creams. Very happy with my astrantia, foxgloves and flowers for my planter.

Lovely sunny nursery. Plants are well grown and good value. New show gardens are excellent inspiration.

Walking into this nursery, I felt as a child in a candy store!Some unusual plants (or at least lots that I haven't seen before), but also a few more common ones. The service was very personal, and the lady who helped me was very knowledgeable about the plants, able to advise what plants go into different areas of the garden.

I visited last October leaving very disappointed with the level of customer service and care from the owner - another colleague, however, was very helpful and very friendly, but the owner Chris was actually incredibly blunt and rude with me, even though i spent over £700. Many of the plants i bought are now dead, overpriced plants for very little in return.I had a list of plants i still needed and Chris was going to source these and get back to me - he never did - so in the end i took my business elsewhere.Ive never experienced such poor level of service from anyone.Im glad to hear the business was sold. Hopefully the service will be much better.

Great service. A nursery being completely reinvented!I've visited Swallows several times and have always been happy with the trees and plants I've had from them. I'm particularly impressed with Twisted Willow and Portuguese Laurel hedge that they have supplied.A little over a year ago the nursery changed hands and the new owner has set about transforming the site. I visited over the weekend and was astounded with the amount of change over the passed 6 months. The new inspiration gardens are well worth seeing and the quality and range of plants has gone from strength to strength.Finally, I have to comment on the staff. Everyone I've spoken to is knowledgable, friendly, helpful and excited about the transformation they are going through. Well worth visiting now and keeping an eye on Swallows for the future!

Popped to Swallows earlier as looking to get some kind of Reptile as a gift for my grandson. Spoke to a young lady called Ellie. This young lady went above and beyond to help me. Was incredibly knowledgeable and really patient. Well done Swallows. Customer service at its best

Under new ownership now. When I visited in the spring, the new owners had just taken over. The prices were high despite a lot of plants needing weeding and care. Something they inherited, but was awkward to deal with as a customer. I will wait to go back, giving them time to get on their feet.
