Visited this morning and absolutely enjoyed it. The staff who I believe some of (possibly all) are volunteers were absolutely wonderful and made my little lad feel extremely welcome. The displays are educational and well presented. The staff will happily give you a guided tour and provide insights to historical facts. There is free parking too which is a bonus and the restaurant next door offers some brilliant food.

It is run by volunteers who have a great deal of knowledge (at least the person I particularly spoke to).It is cosy being only on one floor and occupying the space formerly used by a R.N.L.I. post. In fact, you can see the remains of the runners down which life boats were cast. There is a concentration on vessels associated with the area and persons linked with those vessels.A one-way system is indicated on the floor in view of having to walk around some displays. If going there on foot from the train station, be prepared for climbing some steep streets. Using Google Maps was most handy to remain on the shortest trek across town.

We had a fantastic time at the museum and it was made extra special by Gareth the long-standing volunteer who gave us a wealth of his knowledge and made the whole experience unforgettable. All of the staff were wonderful there and a big thank you to our tour guide Gareth.

Loved this place, the volunteers were so lovely and helpful, a great little quiz to keep the kids entertain, and also learning, very happy we decided to come.

Visiting the museum in Holyhead Wales was an enjoyable time. The city itself was a very quaint city. People were very friendly and the food was delicious.

A great museum for adults and children alike. Lots of very detailed exhibits and a real warm welcome to a three year old who just wanted to ring the big bell!

We wanted to say a big thank you to Peter who gave us a tour of the museum on the 20th September. We really enjoyed the stories and learned so much. Peter is clearly very passionate about the history of Anglesey. Thank you for your time as a volunteer it was much appreciated.

Fascinating experience to know about the oldest life boats and ships. Also there is an Air Raid shelter exhibition.

As someone that's spent many years in the museum sector I never miss an opportunity to see a museum if I'm in the area... Holyhead Maritime Museum is a real treat ! Exceptionally laid out full to the rafters with the town's maritime history. The volunteers are absolutely welcoming and so knowledgable, my 2 hours visit was an education, not just in maritime history but the town's heritage as well. Long may independent museums like this one continue, it's a real credit to Anglesey !
