First time customer, impressed. The pub is clean, warm and well lit. Staff were friendly and welcoming, food very good(had to wait for pies, but it was mentioned by the waitress and on the menu).Any negatives, one is the menu is a little difficultto read, a small point, secondly the entrance off the street was tight, difficult for wheelchairs. Will I be back? absolutely. I enjoyed my evening.

Went here for a meal and was very disappointed in both the food and service. Firstly the place was freezing as had the air con on and 3 tables mentioned it to the waitress who finally turned it off and said it will soon warm up. It had a lovely fire but wasn’t on. We ordered a burger and scampi. The meal arrived the scampi was fine but the burger was raw in the middle, it was visibly pink and just tasted of pepper. We told the guy who took the plate and never offered an alternative meal. We would have normally ordered desserts and coffee but the attitude of the server was poor so we just asked for the bill and decided to go. He just brought it over with no apology and we were charged full price for the meal which unedable. This place used to be nice for food but it’s average at best and to hit and miss if you’re going to have a good meal or not. Won’t be returning unfortunately after this poor experience.

Met up with friends here for a meal, this being my second visit. Last time I had the steak & Guinness pie (which was fantastic), so this time I decided to try the chicken tikka masala pie. I have to say, it is one of the best pies/meals that I have had in a long time. The crust was perfect, plenty of chicken and sauce inside too.Everyone else thoroughly enjoyed their meals, and we all left empty plates. The staff were very attentive, always checking if we needed more drinks and if everything was OK.All in all, we had a great night, and will definitely be back.

Lovely local pub coke restaurant. Nice area, great staff and well presented. Menu is decent, and items all looked good around me as fellow diners tucked in. My Korean bao bun was lovely, but I came here the North East’s famous local dish Parmo. It’s on the menu, but judging by presentation and execution, it seems to be here because they feel it “should be”. It was alright, but missing the passion in the dishes around me. Whilst in Rome (Stockton-on-Tees) and all that… glad I tried a Parmo. Would I have it again? Maybe not here.
