Last time we were here was 3 years ago and both service and food was below average (compared to that from the past years) However we came back to try dim sum at Saikei again on 9th April and was pleased to find that the restaurant has improved on food seasoning and service was friendlier. However, prices have increased by at least £1 to £3 per dish. (See menu photos to compare). Teapot is charged at £1.50 per person. You will also have to ask for the chilli oil & sauce/other table condiments. The seating system is by you come in & tell front of house person in charge how many people dining and will then be handed a ticket number (keep this safe as you will need to give it to the person calling your number to be seated). There are a few seats in the waiting area. NOTE: it is not 1st come, 1st serve. Other groups or people will be seated before you even if they came after you as they go by the vacant table by number of seats/people: a big group may be seated before a couple or vice versa. Plenty of (pay online) onsite parking - instructions are clearly displayed outside, around the restaurant & on the menu. But if you can walk (about 10 mins), you can park in the nearby Odeon/pizza hut/B&Q/IKEA car park (free parking for 5hrs every day). Ordering is by marking the quantity required by the dish you want on the paper provided once seated. Any other dishes (not on the dim sum menu but you know is on the dinner menu) may be requested when the waiter/waitress comes to take the ordering paper. The bill has automatically added the service charge on it. Sakei also has takeaway service for their food/dim sum as well as the special whole suckling pig.

Poor customer service, some food ok but prep & hygiene questionable!- Not my regular dim sum place but decided to try after a few years as we happened to be local. Went for lunch on a monday so it was quiet but upon arrival all the servers didn't even acknowledge us so first impression wasn't great.- After finally being seated although there were only about 10 tables aside from us it was difficult to get someone's attention to take our order.- While waiting for the food I noticed the spoon set on my place had some crusty old food stuck on it, not entirely shocked at this point. Luckily there were spare cutlery on the table so didn't have to go through the hurdle of getting someone to change it. We gave all our cutlery a good rinse with hot water before using it!- After browsing the menu we noticed that they don't serve deep fried squid which is a dim sum staple and a favourite of my daughter's so that was disappointing.- The dim sum we ordered was generally good but decided to top up with an order of ho fun stir fried with 3 roast meats.. wish we hadn't as the dish was strangely sweet and the ho fun wasn't particularly hot considering it had just come out of the kitchen. To top it off my mum also found a piece of plastic styrofoam in it!- Everything combined and what appears to be a minimum charge of £3.50 for parking regardless of the duration I won't be returning to this place.

Service was incredibly fast for a weekend. The dim sum was great. The only problem was that it is a little difficult to get there or even getting there, there is a car park….. but you can park at B&Q where it’s free and walk over. I walked 15 minutes from the O2, it’s nice and open until you get close to the myriad of roads you have to cross to get there.

Came here for lunch for dim sum. Can’t express how disappointed I was with the food here. The prawn chungfun was soggy and prawns were not fresh all all. The chicken in the Chicken crispy noodles had something very funny about it. Almost like they had processed it so that it was soft, but it smelled gone off.The monk’s vegetables was very salty. The dim sum was also a let down. Attaching photos.Won’t be coming here again.

*Affordable and authentic transitional style dim sum, but please have no expectation on service and atmosphere (as you will with old traditional style restaurants in Asia). We have been coming to this restaurant for dim sum / lunch nearly every Saturday. It can get busy during Saturday lunch and you will need to queue for 20-30 minutes.Service is close to none (be prepared), you get attention if you ask for them, but otherwise they just leave you to enjoy your meal. The place is also very dated but you go there for authentic traditional style dim sum, not a fancy candle light meal ;)My must order dishes are: 49, 6, 61, 48, 29, 1.

The dim sum is good and with most of the dishes around £5. The fried noodle and hofun dishes are yum, but the portions are small. Service is good is good and reliable. For the atmosphere, it’s typically in traditional Chinese settings.

Felt extremely unwelcome the SECOND I walked in. After a long day of travelling I was excited to get some food. The restaurant closes at 10:30pm and I walked in approx 9:40pm I was met with a waiter hurrying over to me and saying: “we close at half 10.” I said “yeah that’s fine.” He huffed and sat me down & walked away. I have never in my life walked into a restaurant & been made to feel so unwelcome.I picked up the wrong menu on the table & it was soon snatched out of my hand & told it was the wrong one. Everything was so aggressive & unnecessary!! I felt like an inconvenience that had ruined their night!I ordered the prawn toast & the Singapore vermicilli. Both dishes extremely poor. Prawn toast was sour - definitely not fresh fish used - left it didn’t eat it.Vermicilli had barely any meat - was all noodles & veg.I also finished my drink & wasn’t offered anotherSave your money trust me.

This is always good to have dim sum with good friends here in London. This is not the most decent place with luxury and classy decor but a place for people to gather and chit chat with a good customer service. Food is good here but not excellent.. Hygiene is somehow questionable also.I never park here direct but getting to ikea free parking and walk over.Good for family gathering.

Been coming here for years.Always had a good time and experience. It’s a bit far for us but my friend always chooses and picks our favourites. The steamed buns are great!Yes the service is what it is but all is good here. The jasmine tea is always good with dim sum.It can get busy but we dine between 1pm-2pm on a Saturday and don’t have to wait too long for a table nor our food.Recommended if you like dim sum.

We ate here last Dember 17 for my partners birthday around 2pm?We were seated right away and the service we got was great. I was skeptical to try this place because of the negative comments I read here. But what we experience is great, a factor probably because we did not eat here during rush time.We ordered dimsums, chowmien, spare ribs and salt and pepper squid. Everything tastes so good!I love that there chopstick were like the authentic one.Service and atmosphere was great. Definitely will go bacm and hopefully will have the same good experience.I forgot, they give you oranges which were super yummy as it is sweet.
