Great place to visit for a hike. Went there to do photos with my friend and we were not disappointed with what Padley Gorge had to offer us. Will defo be going again next year

A wonderful part of the Peak District! An atmospheric gorge with amazing scenery and a stream along its entire length. You would like to walk like this for hours. A great adventure and unforgettable images of mother nature.

great place for people who like to walk with the family. great views and nature. I advise you to take good shoes because in some places it is really slippery. The restaurant at the end does not accept payment via cards. it's worth knowing about it, because if you don't buy anything, you can't use the toilet (unfriendly)

Intriguing walk from Surprise View car park down past Owler Tor and into Padley Gorge. We did this on a warm and sunny mid-august Wednesday morning. There were plenty of people around but few ventured much further than the ice cream van. We headed towards Grindleford on the right bank of the stream and encountered many wonderful sights. The route was fairly easy if a little muddy in places, there are also many tree roots to negotiate so suitable footwear is a must. We returned along the opposite bank and this section was more challenging with some steep sections to test your fitness. We will definitely return, perhaps on a foggy day when ,I imagine, there atmosphere will be spectacular.

Enjoyed the walk with my kids. Kids loved it. We started walk from Grindleford station where you have to pay for car park by Ring Go App (just £2 for whole day). Make sure to wear appropriate footwear for partial muddy condition which we encountered during our walk.

Although the Gorge itself is lovely, parking for it is atrocious. You can only pay for parking via an app and if you can't get a signal, you're stumped. Also it didn't help that Google Maps leads you to a private road.

We started from Grindleford Station car park which is £2 to park all day, using the RingGo parking app. (Download and register before you go, as I had practically no phone signal when I got there, so it took us 20mins before we could head off!)We had a pleasant walk alongside the river, with some good photo opportunities along the way with large rocks protruding from the ground. The pathway became less well constructed and came to an abrupt end after we crossed the bridge and went up the embankment steps to get to the best part of the waterfall. There is a cafe in the station car park but it closed not long after we arrived so we didn't go in.
