The Sleep Disorders Clinic
Just wanted to share my experience at The Sleep Disorders Clinic. My partner has suffered from daytime tiredness and snores excessively therefore I conducted some research into sleep clinics and physicians. I came across this clinic via Google and the website looked quite impressive. Prior to making an appointment we tried to obtain an authorisation from our health insurer. Neither the clinic or ‘Dr’ Joseph Gannon are registered with them. Nevertheless we decided to visit privately as his sleep disturbance was getting worse. At the appointment ‘Dr’ Gannon took a detailed history and diagnosed sleep apnoea. According to him it was a textbook case which bought us aa lot of relief. My partner decided to undergo the sleep study at home which was absolutely fine. The results were sent to us but something wasn’t quite right as there was no mention of apnoea at all. We were led to believe that this was the diagnosis. We were also led to believe that Dr. Gannon was a medical doctor. He isn’t, he is a physiologist hence the issue with our insurer not recognising him. The website is very misleading as he is wearing a stethoscope and at no point during the consultation did he mention this.We were obviously displeased and went for a second and third opinion. The diagnosis was narcolepsy which is incredibly serious so how this was overlooked is quite frankly disgraceful.I would suggest that Mr. Gannon looks at the way he advertises and how he interprets results in future. A complete waste of time and money.

If you want prompt, courteous and professional treatment then I can recommend this clinic. I was accurately diagnosed by the in-home sleep study and then received my CPAP and mask fitting at the appointment in London. The followup calls were useful on tracking results from the CPAP device.I received my treatment in June & July 2019.I've gone from barely being able to function with severe OSA, to being rested, awake, alert and all the other mental and physiological benefits from that. Based on that alone, it has been the best money I've ever spent.I had done some research on available sleep studys and NHS options available before I undertook consultation with the clinic. As such, I was armed with the knowledge it was a private practice, (not a subsidised NHS service).

Fantastic, professional service from start to finish. Very clear instructions ahead of receiving 2 night sleep test for sleep apnea. Prompt phonecall to discuss results which I was able to return at my leisure. Further call to Joseph to discuss my thorough report recieved by email and he explained evey query in lay terms and he gave me all options going forward. He never pushed the CPAP machine and left it as an option. Would highly recommend.

Wasted a year with the NHS. Found out that the machine was the wrong one for me and the machine I had wasn't even set correctly. Visited the Sleep Disorder clinic and learnt more about my apnoea in my half hour appointment that at any previous time. Now have the correct equipment and have been extremely impressed with the support and wouldn't hesitate in recommending them. Just ask my wife. She now has a snore free nights sleep.

AVOID IF YOU VALUE YOUR HEALTH, WELL BEING AND LIFE. My partner used this practice and was diagnosed" with severe sleep apnea by Joe and he purchased a CPAP therapy machine as advised by Joe. He tried to get a review with Joe because the therapy was not helping and his health was declining. Joe was not forthcoming with helping at all.We then went to a legally regulated and reputable practice which did another sleep study. It turned out my partner actually had severe complex sleep apnea with severe central sleep apnea and is now at a considerable risk of a heart attack or a stroke. The man that runs this practice is NOT a doctor like he claims he is merely a technician. He is putting the lives of people at serious risk through malpractice and negligence and I strongly advise anyone seeking diagnosis or treatment to go to a reputable place where there is a proper consultant. Please be careful when using this practice and I hope this helps to avoid the possibility of losing a loved one because of a diagnosis and treatment given by someone who claims to be something he is not!"

Thank you for the first class service. I originally approached Sleep Disorders Clinic because I was not getting anywhere with the NHS. My wife and I strongly suspected that I had sleep apnea. Right from my first call to them, diagnosis through their comprehensive sleep study and through to beginning of my CPAP therapy, I have been really well looked after. My apnea is now fully treated and I am getting restfull sleep every night. I would recommend the clinic without hesitation to anyone looking to resolve their sleep issues/disorders.

Wanted to know if apnea was the cause of my symptoms which ranged from extreme tiredness to day time sleepiness, and due to NHS waiting times I went private. Was promptly sent easy to fit device to wear for two day study, which the delivery company then came to pick up aswell. I then received a phone call from Joseph with the results. It was all quite straightforward.

They didn't call for my partner's telephone appointment, for which he was waiting for 5 months, and then just said that he didn't pick up the phone (while he was sitting on the phone all day and there were no missing calls). A very arrogant lady on the reception wasn't helpful at all. Another 5 months of sleep deprivation waiting for a new appointment sounds amazing

Mixed Experience !! Because the NHS have horrendous wait list . I couldn't last ay longer and had previously diagnosed with sleep Apnea and a mouth breather. After A Brief discussion with Joseph. I did a sleep study , which he confirmed verbally that I had severe sleep apnea ( I need did struggle to the full report and written diagnoses, eventually got a complex graph ). I was in a desperate situation and his main objective was to sell me the £1000 Dream station Pack Over priced but I was desperate and it was lockdown . He did a video call and did suggest an excellent Mask that was very comfortable . He was in touch weekly and then monthly to begin with after i started and made some adjustment to the machine. But I was still struggling with leakage. But far he concerned that was it. I then brought a second hand Resmed 10 and found it Marvelous, and found a feature that solved the the leak comfort issue ! Exhale relief feature. I told Joseph about this and he just said the Dream station does its called something else ( The dreamstation does but he hadnet discussed or turned it on and its not as good for me as the RESMED. ALSO couldn't get him to write to my GP with my diagnosis and treatment !! EMM I wonder why !! . I always had to chase to get a return my calls .. Like I said a mixed experience . Overall Disappointed
