I did a cycling tour in the UK with my grandson, 13 years old. On july 28 we arrived at this campsite(Alderstaed heath caravan and motorhomeclub campsite) after 57 km. It was not good weather. We were not allowed to stay because we could not stay in one tent together and a minor was not allowed alone in one place. Incredible. That, While there was enough place! Rules, the lady keeps saying! And that while we are simply wel, come at other campsites of the same club. We were very disappointed. Fortunately, we found a place with a private person to set up our little tents. We have found that the english are only nice and helpful People about it, but unfortunately thee are exceptions.

This is our second visit but this time we came with friends. There are so many lovely dog walks out of the campsite, with a few pubs along the way, we did lots of walking whilst here and visited the Harrow,. The Fox and the WattingdonArms. The fenced off dog area is a little small but to be honest you can walk your dogs in the small woods next to the campsite should you want your dogs to be off the lead. The toilets were quiet and very clean up until Friday and then not so much! The site itself is huge and so we were able to tuck ourselves away, and had a grass pitch. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful too.Despite where this campsite is located it's very peaceful and you don't hear the traffic from the nearby roads, although there are a few planes and helicopters going over during the day!

Avoid this place like the plague, rude lazy staff that you can never find, you call them on the mobile number provided and they never answer, toilets are rotten and fully of spiders, even seen a rat or some kind of rodent by the bins, the manager or so she called herself was racist towards my friend and denied him the use of the toilet just because he was not a member of the club, told him to get off the site and used disgusting language as he left, imagine denying someone the use of the toilets, that a basic human right, please please don't use this site.

It was terrible, we were at 19.15 at the reception. It was open until 20, and we could call a number, and they were just there, but did not speak to us. We made an online booking and than they came. But they did not want us. When were in, they kept complaining. The car was not at the right place. The tent was not good. We had to pay extra, in the end we had to leave.

Me, 2 kids and my grandma who has problems with walking just got kicked off this camping. Because we wanted too put 2 small tents in a 49m² spot. The people where mean and awful and didn't help us at all.

We stayed here as backpackers with individual hike tents whilst walking the North Downs Way. This is a nice campsite, with good facilities (showers, etc) and large clean pitches. However, the club that owns the site does not seem to be so used to accepting bookings from backpackers, and there was some confusion about what type of pitch we needed despite us specifying this in our booking. The couple at reception were extremely helpful in reaching an amicable solution, but the stress caused by the confusion could have been avoided if the campsite improved their systems.
