First met Michael at Ally Pally and Shepton Mallet antiques fairs. He is very friendly and knowledgable and my husband, Roger, is very pleased with his purchases. Recently we visited the shop and a purchase was made. Michael is happy to chat and offered us coffee. We will visit the shop again, when in the area and hope to see Michael at Shepton Mallet next time we go there.

I found this shop by chance last year and I think I must have been back nearly every week since! I have bought a number of fine watches and have learned a lot from Michael, the owner. Not only is he very knowledgable, but is happy to share that knowledge to help one avoid the many pitfalls. He offers a good range of superb watches at very fair prices. This really is an essential port of call if you are starting out or are a seasoned collector of fine watches or jewellery.

Michael at SKJ Watches is the kind of owner watch-people dream about. Extremely knowledgeable, open, honest and enthusiastic. Fantastic collection of really interesting pieces at reasonable prices. Absolutely worth visiting and can't wait to visit again on my next trip to Dorchester.

I first met Michael a couple of years ago. I was after a moonphase. His knowledge is first class and he doesn't push a sale. In fact, he advised me to get a movado as they are undervalued and brilliant mechanically. He didn't have the watch available but even emailed me to let me know when one was being auctioned in London. Being a novice myself, he gave me advice on what to pay etc. First class man, would thoroughly recommend visiting his store.

What an amazing man! Thanks to Michael for outstanding customer service. His knowledge of vintage watches is second to none! He helped massively with a recent watch repair and adjustments needed on an old 1970's TAG Heuer Vintage watch. What Michael doesn't know about vintage watches is not worth knowing. He is an encyclopedia of all things horology. His selection of timepieces for sale is fabulous and what he hasn't got.. he will source. I have often come here to drink coffee and chat watches with Michael. Brilliant service, so friendly in there. Bond street service in a Dorchester! What more could you ask for? I bought my beautiful pre used Rolex watch from Michael 7 years ago and it’s as good today as the day I bought it and I wear it every day! How many people can say that after buying second hand? He’s the only jeweller I’d trust to buy from.

Just adore Michael, and always make a bee line for him at his stand at the Antiques Fair at Shepton Mallett, and have done so for many years. He is always happy to answer loads of questions patiently, and I feel that I have come away with the very best deal. I shall look forward to seeing him again in September 2017.
