A real find. In the middle of nowhere but worth a visit if you are interested in history. The person who was there was very knowledgeable about the history of the place. The wall paintings were fantastic. Was told about this by a friend who enthusiastically told me about this.

A beautiful window of history lovingly reclaimed and preserved and now a great place to visit, appreciate and space to be mindful. The gardens are well maintained with seating areas and parking is available alongside the road.

A must visit church. Access from Browns Lane is via a gravel dirt track (sign posted), it is the left-hand path, the right-hand path leads to a farm. There is parking on an adjacent green south of the church. When I went, there was a guide that gave a great tour and history of the place.

Fantastic church, open every day in the summer 2pm - 4pm and at the weekends from November to April 2pm - 4pm. We've been here twice and both times got a wonderful and informative talk about the church, the restoration and the amazing frescoes. There are multiple layers of frescos dating from different time periods. This most notably includes a significant and rare series of frescos from the 10th-11th century late Anglo-Saxon period. All of which gives the visitor a greater understanding of the different artistic styles.

Beautiful restored church with very old wall paintings. It is in an isolated spot along an accessible track to get to the top of a small hill. There is a grassy parking area close to the church. The church is surrounded by trees and grass areas. The views across the countryside are worth a look, although the wind turbines at nearly North Pickenham Airfield (disused) do appear in the west view. We attended a concert at the church, the acoustics are very good. It is possible to wheel a wheelchair around the site but I would recommend having someone to assist.I would recommend a visit on an open day although the area around the church is open 24/7.The actual church is well protected by security measures after being damaged by visitors.

Very interesting little church with long history. Only there because of lots of hard work by local people. Open for visiting between 2 and 4pm every day during the summer and weekends during the winter. Sat nav PE37 8FB. Trust your sat nav when it sends you along an unsurfaced road.

Stunning little church with amazing voluntary local guides. Every time I have visited there is always someone waiting for visitors and I'm always astonished at how many people turn up. The murals on all the wall are said to the be the oldest in Europe - it is fascinating to see what the church may have been like hundreds of years ago. The church itself has many different build and roof levels/wall changes/window changes and so on - Roman, Saxon, Medieval... and the stories that go with it are captivating. It really is worth seeking out and making a visit. I love it here.

Splendidly isolated and very beautiful. Anglo Saxon elements visible and very early Christian paintings. Very helpful guide explained the iconography.
