Chaddesley Woods National Nature Reserve

Beautiful in Spring - Bluebells, orange tipped butterflies, cuckoos in May, lovely views of the Malverns. One of my favourite places for a quiet walk in wonderful wooded area.

**October 2023 update, star removed** I'm sorry to report that the logging has begun at the wood :o( The scale is tremendous and it's so sad to see the destruction caused by the felling and more importantly the heavy plant equipment that has made a right mess carving a path through the top end of the wood. The beauty of this place is still there, just not where the logging is occurring. The far end of the wood is now as pictured, a massive pile of logs and mess left by the heavy machinery. There is signage that spouts about the felling (pictured) but ultimately, it comes down to money, which is so sad. Heartbreaking. You can still find plenty of untouched parts of the wood before you reach the logging section, but remember your wellies once you're off the main path.Oh, no dog poo bins. None. Please, if you pick it up, take it with you. I have recovered some hanging from a bush before now.Still worth a visit. Just be aware of the destruction of some of our little remaining woodland.**original review**Really lovely place. It's not the biggest, but there are plenty of little paths to explore. Great with dogs. Some of the red paths on the maps (pictured) either don't line up when you're there or they don't quite go where they suggest they do so keep that in mind.The main paths however are good in all weather. The side paths can get a bit boggy. One of them was even blocked by a fallen tree, meaning progress back to the road was tricky. There is no car park. You park in the many lay by's that run parallel with the wood. Definitely be back. Let's just hope it drys up as we enter August!!

A beautiful, tranquil forest, and stunning in the spring when the Bluebells are out. And to top it off, if you visit on a mid week evening, you'll most likely have the place to yourself. I've been here multiple times now and it never disappoints.

Lovely quiet walk. Only saw 4 other people the whole time we were walking. The sounds of the bird songs were lovely. Please keep dogs on a lead if you visit There are plenty of signs, no waste bins (as it's the countryside and no one is going to be passing to empty the bin) but still we passed one couple with their dog off lead, they did put it on when we passed, but the council are asking for a reason!Park on the road, only a few spaces though.

This nature reserve is lovely for walk with the children (not too long about 1/3 miles depending which trail you do) dog walkers and general hike lovers.

Lovely quiet nature park. Gets very muddy in autumn and winter and the walks around are fairly small (3km max) but still a lovely place.

Chaddesley Woods is lovely to walk around. We went to see the Bluebells. The paths are well made so pushchairs and wheelchairs are easier to push. There are smaller tracks you can use if you want to get off the ma8n paths. The Bluebells were wonderful really big swathes of them as well as other woodland plants. You have to park on the road where you can.

First ever visit to these woods, enjoyed the scale of them and how you can get away from it all. Some of the narrower paths at this time of year were quite muddy but we managed. Would’ve been nice for some dog bins to be at least on the exit to save you having to transport home. Still some lazy beggars felt fit to let their dogs poo & not pick up or toss their bags into the bushes, what’s the matter with these folk ? Thankfully we only found it on the main path through. Will be back to explore more, loved the big Red woods ?

A really beautiful and peaceful walk. Suitable for everyone. Saw some lovely Muntjac deer there. Parking at side of road. Doesn’t get too busy. All in all a gorgeous place to have a wander with family and friends.
