Really Good Wash and Cut -However service for what you pay isn’t amazing - greated by a guy sat in the barbers chair on his phone and hardly looked at me. Also some of the products on the ledges below the mirrors looked really dirty and not been wiped down after use by or even at the end of the day. I could see the gunk building up around the nozzle of products.I also thought the appearance of the barber wasn’t the best (I understand your cutting hair and not going to wearing anything special but a pair of scruffy lounge shorts and scruffy t shirt isn’t the best first impression.

Great barber shop, friendly team, both Jonny and Jodie are great. Very knowledgeable, and Jonny criticised the quality of the cut my last hairdresser did, which I found quite funny. They’ve got a cute dog as well.PS free beer if you ask nicely!

I’d struggled to find a place to cut women’s short hair in York which didn’t include a massive pink tax or wasn’t way out of my budget. I was nervous going into a guys salon for the first time but Johnny made me feel immediately welcome, cut was perfect, exactly what I wanted and discussed with me every step of the way. Will definitely be coming back!

Best barbers experience in York. I'm relatively local and only ever been to one barbers in York, so I decided to branch out and try the Good Folks.And they certainly live up to their name. Friendly staff, nice premises, and a great cut. They clearly take pride in their work and take their time to make sure that the job is done perfectly.I'll certainly be back, next time I'm in town. And I'd highly recommend them to anyone nearby.

Absolutely fantastic, the best haircut I’ve ever had. Went for my second cut at weekend with Jonny, he did a great job yet again. Very professional and impressive work, all the staff are friendly and helpful

Had a great hair cut on Friday. Jonny is a good bloke and I wish him all the best. He's set up a good barber's. I'll be taking my son next and will be back for my next cut in another 4-5 weeks. Get down to Gillygate and give The Good Folks a try.
