If you're looking to learn how to develop and print, or hone your already developed skills, this is the place for you. Every time I've booked a session with Ash I've had a fantastic time and he's gone above and beyond to help improve my shooting skills, theoretical knowledge and confidence in the darkroom.I nearly gave up on film photography until I spoke to Ash, but his passion and enthusiasm for film is contagious, and I've loved every minute of it since.Couldn't recommend this place highly enough.

I have now had three sessions at Plymouth Darkroom with one of these being a bespoke 1:1 session with Ashley in relation to shooting and developing 4x5 film. Ashley is a very patient and knowledgeable teacher who offers constructive advice and critique in a very friendly way. His darkroom set up is excellent - spacious and airy offering three different enlarger types ranging from 35mm right up to 4x5; enough to suit the majority of ‘film shooters’ requirements. Overall an excellent place for novice and experienced film users and those wanting to gain an insight into film and print developing. Highly recommended.
