Chew Valley Animal Park
Amazing place, animals all looked well cared for and clean. Feeding the goats is amazing and hilarious! Was gutted I didn't get to see reggie the raccoon (he was asleep) but we will definitely visit again! Well worth the 2.5 hour drive and beautiful views while around the farm.

An excellent independent wildlife park on the hill above chew magna... It's a little bit of a trek up but well worth the effort. There is a large parking area with decent size spaces.Entry is via a newly finished shop area with plenty on offer and tickets are pretty affordable considering the price of any of the attractions in nearby Bath or Bristol. In the same building is a bar/cafe/restaurant offering food and pizzas at really affordable prices and is really good quality.. this is also open some nights for dinner and events..The park itself has a slightly eclectic mix of animals who are often rehomed or rescued from a variety of situations ranging from Ill advised 'pets' to circuses and some do have health issues which are being monitored and cared for by the staff while these animals get the chance to live in comfort.. some of the creatures include camels, capybara, deer, various goats, cranes, peacock, kookaburra, leamurs and meerkats but the park often gains new residents..Well worth a day out if you are local and a great place for an affordable day out with the kids (remember feeding all these animals and looking after their needs isn't cheap!).. just be aware the is is an animal park and many of the animals can nip fingers... Not an issue for most but if I don't say it someone will likely grumble..if you are looking for a present for a friend they also do close encounters with many of the animals allowing you to get even closer and feed them..Well worth a visit if you are nearby and want something different and don't want to spend an arm and a leg somewhere like Longleat to entertain a kid

Fantastic day here. My son was over the moon to be surprised with the Capybara Experience. In his words, My dream has come true"! The male keeper was friendly

Amazing zoo full of happy healthy and well cared for creatures.Good spacing, enclosure size and set up. Well priced feeding for farm animals which was a lovely tactile experience with them.Animals all seemed to enjoy their lives and staff were knowledgeable about them and their care.Even though the park was busy it didn't feel overcrowded at all.Restaurant was busy but to be expected with the quality of the food sold.I had previously had a Capybara encounter which was phenomenal and today we went in with the foxes which was absolutely lovely and the keeper (liv) was a delight! We love this place and will keep coming back for sure!

Good for a day out. Only slight complaint is the food service hence loss of one star.Ordered a pizza and several other dishes. We were not told the pizza are made one at a time and we were 7th in line. So all other members of our party had eaten before the pizza was even prepared so we had a refund and one person left unfed. All animals have nice clean enclosures and a nice touch to be able to pet a pig and feed the goats and deer. Will be back but will opt for something other than pizza, although it did look nice on other tables.

Wow this is a gem of a place in the heart of the Chew valley. Amazing views over the lake and once your in the place is so clean and tidy with a bar and restaurant plus plenty of picnic tables you could spend the whole day there easy. Loads of animals and you can buy feed for the goats and deer, fantastic for the kids and adults alike. Cost us £30 for 2 adults which for an afternoons entertainment was well worth it . Parking is free .

Absolutely fantastic place! I'm from Exeter Devon and I've been to a few zoos' but this just tops it. It's not the biggest of places but that's kind of what makes it so nice. We didn't go in the nicest of weather but you can tell the animals are well looked after. They offer a petting time where you can hold the small animals and they are friendly and you can tell they are handled well. Worth all the money x

A gem of a place with an array of animals, we loved our time here and spent a good 3 hours seeing all the animals. Free 30 minutes cuddle time with mice, guinea pigs, rabbits and rats, and you're able to be in the pygmy goat and pig pen to give these guys some love too throughout the day. Would definitely recommend and we will be returning (if not only just to see the raccoon not sleeping this time!)

Absolutely fantastic. For a small animal park it had everything to make it special. We went especially for a fox experience since our daughter is fox crazy and it did not disappoint. The foxes were friendly and beautiful and it was delightful to interact with them. The staff was superb, knowledgeable and friendly. Another highlight for the kids were the kids (baby goats) which caused many giggles. Even the restaurant was fantastic, with fresh delicious food it was worth the visit in itself. Thank you for an unforgettable day.
