Excellent experience. It was very easy to book a survey and the surveyor arranged access with the estate agent directly.The homebuyers report was very comprehensive and the surveyor had clearly conducted a very thorough inspection.I arranged a follow up telephone appointment to discuss a few of the findings that concerned me and these were well explained. Highly recommend this company.

WARNING PLEASE DO NOT USE THESE SURVEYORS. Engaged them to produce a drawing for a beam to span an opening and support first floor of house. The visited site , produce drawings. However after I had ordered and paid for the beam I found that these supposedly qualified engineers could not measure correctly. They stated in the drawings and calculations the gap to be spanned was 4m when in fact it was 4.2. Asked from new drawing and refund of the cost of the beam and they insist they are correct ...NOT SURE HOW!Before he lies and says I don't pay my bills, like he has tried to discredit another bad review. He does not attend site unless you pay up front. He even added and additional amount of £40 on my bill as he said he would have to do 2 sets of calculations due to my extension. However when he found this was not the case he did not refund me the over payment!

I purchased a Home Buyers survey from this company earlier this month.When booking the survey, I did ask that once the surveyor had arrived at site and prior to performing the survey, that I would like to have a phone call with the surveyor to discuss the most appropriate survey for this property. I did not receive this call and the next communication to me from the company was when the Home Buyers survey report was completed.I also attempted to discuss two of the issues highlighted in the report during two separate telephone conversations with the surveyor. I must say that on the two occasions I spoke with him, whilst he did return my requests for a call, he was incredibly difficult to speak to; condescending and quite abrasive. This has meant that I am now working with a different surveyor to work through the outstanding issues.

After attending to do a specific defect report on a gable peak of our recently built house, the surveyor told us the problem was caused because there were no lateral restraint straps and the situation represented a serious safety issue. We immediately contacted our builder who promptly attended with an independent surveyor. They examined the same issue and pointed out the lateral restraint straps which we had been told were missing. Our builder then contacted Northeast Surveyors, who later omitted to mention the 'missing' items when they produced their report. We would have been better served by pouring our £495 down a drain - at least we would have been spared the expense and stress of being given information that was so obviously not true. A very expensive mistake!

I am from the South-east of England and came across NESE via Google search for accredited structural surveyors. I have used Gary Boardman and his firm on two occasions now and each time Gary has provided a timely, excellent professional service. The first survey highlighted several structural issues that allowed me to withdraw interest and the second occasion the service was equally professional and timely identifying key issues that would require addressing.Gary also made himself available to discuss his reports findings and complimented the reports with answering related questions that further highlighted the breadth of regional knowledge that has been immensely beneficial for me. The reports allowed me to make important financial assessments based on the high standard of the survey reports. We asked Northeast Surveyors to carry out a survey together with other questions we needed answers to and they did this to our satisfaction, they even carried out the surveys on a bank holiday. Not to put themselves out. We are extremely happy with the work them have done for us and will most definitely use them again. Thank you

This seems to be just a group of people who work independently and don't bother to interact in any way. We had an appointment for 10am for an engineer to call to talk through spec for taking out a wall and a new rsj etc. by 10:30 no one had appeared or no phone call, so I rang their landline. Straight to answerphone as on previous occasions. I had a call back 15 minutes later from someone who clearly hadn't listened to the message I had left and he said we are very busy and can't do anything until next week". I explained that my message gave the name of the engineer who should have already been to see me an hour before

Do not use this company - totally incompetent! I rang up and explained exactly what kind of job I wanted - Some movement on wall above a couple of windows and wanted some advice about a wall in the kitchen. I asked if I could meet up with the surveyor to discuss the wall in the kitchen as I had some questions. They charged me either £265 or £275. on the 29th Sept with a promise the work would be carried out quickly and a surveyor would contact me - didn't happen! A number of e mails and finally a response on the 1st Oct stating it had been done - without me present!!!! Had to wait until 3rd Oct to speak to so called 'manager' told I was given a buyers building survey!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Was told they would give me a rebate of £200 if I got them to do a structural survey - I asked for a rebate as they had not carried out the work I asked for - Refused! - do not touch with a barge pole - totally incompetant. Response to his reply - he called into the estate agents for the keys shortly after I spoke to him, no permission was required by the owner as the keys were with the estate agent. I explained that I needed to be there to explain what information I needed, had he done that, then maybe he could have explained it was a structural survey but he didnt. It has taken him nearly 3 years to think up this response. Hire him only if you have a new house
