So seemed like a good company when I joined 4 years ago. However recent switch back to them after a house move has been nothing but painful. I had to chase them to finalise the switch back to them, I now can't supply meter readings online, they don't respond to messages, they don't answer calls after 4.30pm even though they're open until 5pm and the online chat never connects to anyone! Regretting my loyalty to So.

Absolutely terrible company to deal with. Fitted a smart meter in April which has never worked, had several engineers out stating it will never work due to rural location. SO Energy refuse to listen to this and keep saying it needs commissioning". Sick of running in circles

Absolutely disgusting customer service. Multiple phone calls and emails been sent since May and been told each time someone will get back to me, with no further contact. SO energy were provided with legal evidence as to my situation, and chose to ignore this and proceed to take action against me. Multiple attempts have been made for this to be corrected, which have all been ignored. Absolutely horrendous customer service, this situation has caused months of unnecessary stress and anxiety.

I have been a So Energy for a long time and have always been happy with the service that I have received. It can take a long time to get through to an agent on the telephone but those that I have spoken to are polite and helpful. I have a Smart Meter so don't have to worry about meter readings and have just renewed on a Fixed Price contract for another 2 years. The help and advice I was given today convinced me to continue with them.

I lived in a tiny one bedroom and submitted regular meter readings some of which they got and some they didn't for some reason.The direct debit was set up at £40 per month only to be increased to over £200 per month a few months after.I left for two months out of two different years and NOTHING was plugged in or on in the flat and they still charged me what they estimated" I'd used while not in the flat.Calling resulted in rude condescending responses from customer service who felt they had to "educate" me on how to read the meter or understand my bill.I've since moved to another flat and chosen a different energy company but So Energy continues to send me smart meter installation emails (even though they already installed a smart meter at the old property which never worked). They continue to charge me even though I've shut the account down. Every time I email them to stop this

Worst customer service ever. This is by far the worst company I have ever had the misfortune of dealing with. It usually takes at least 15 minutes just to get through to someone on the phone. The agents seem nice enough but there is no follow up. I have had a billing dispute open with them for 6 MONTHS now. I have telephoned several times to try and resolve this. I have provided photos of my meter readings. Everyone tells you what you want to hear but then you never hear back. I spent an hour on the phone to them Tuesday. They could not get through to their own billings department. They tried to tell me I had to go elsewhere to figure out the Energy Scheme Discount that should have been applied back in February. I was assured of a call back yesterday but yet again I heard nothing. Just called again to try and speak to a manager but was told they were too busy right now. They would ask their manager to call me this afternoon but cannot guarantee they will. If you are considering using this company, my advice is to RUN A MILE and then run some more. If I could give zero stars I would as 1 star is too good for them.

After sending me statements to tell me i was in credit of over £1000, even sending me screen shots and e mails, when i asked for a refund, they then tell me that their statements did not take into account that they were not sending me correct bills, and now say i am in debit to them! A direct debit to them was set up initially so that i would not owe Money, such an inefficient company when it comes to billing. DEFINATELY WOULD NOT RECOMMEND USING

Have been with So Energy for a few years.I regularly send in meter readings and I’m happy with keeping on top of bills with clear statements given to me.I have found the customer services very professional and helpful.All in all the best provider for energy and good prices.I would recommend.

We received a standard e-mail from SO Energy informing us that our direct debit was due to increase by £11.00+ based on our projected usage. At this time we were well in credit and I did not feel the need for this increase. I rang SO Energy and whilst it took 15 minutes to get through I did get to speak to a very polite lady who listened to my explanation of the situation, looked at it for herself and then quite happily told me that she could reduce my payments to slightly below what I was currently paying. This was done almost immediately and with no trouble at all.
