This place reminds me of the house in the film the holiday, is so cosy and beautiful. The food is some of the best Iv ever eaten. The staff are attentive, and so friendly. It’s an absolute must try. You truly will not be disappointed. The wine selection is also amazing. I wish I could give 10 stars ⭐️

I was visiting my son at Leeds university and came here for a family lunch, upon entering the restaurant we received a very frosty and disdainful welcome, I can only assume that he the restaurant manager. Such a shame because the wonderful food and menu was ruined by this man’s lack of general and basic courtesy. It was my daughters suggestion to leave because of this mans attitude and unfortunately, I was in full agreement of her. Shame the experience was ruined by one man’s lack of manners.

Just left now, it was the most amazing place, small & cosy but the food & management was no1Husband wanted to try something different, devilled kidneys to die forPrawn & crayfish for me mmmmmmRib eye just melted in the mouthConfit duck fell off the boneStaff were amazing, couldn’t do enough, can’t wait to go back , leaving starter out so I can fit in a pudding

Lovely meal, Fresh Whitby Crab starter. Lamb and Duck both cooked perfectly. Enjoyed the recommended wine. Host was excellent and very friendly. Venue was great, nice outdoor area. Will be back.

Went in yesterday with the kids, “can I have two fish and chips and one jumbo sausage on its own, the kids can share the chips “…… came home with one fish and chips and two sausage and chips …And because of how stressed out the Irish lad is behind the counter I’d be two afraid to go back in case he blame me for cooking the wrong order. Also the batter was barely cooked, it was just a mess…… for such a famous place they don’t half struggle at lunch times it seems…..also just because this is the second time I’ve been served by the lad, I’ve never felt so guilty as when I walk into the shop and he’s serving, like I’m putting the man out by ordering food, there’s no smile, no welcome, no pleasantries, it’s an uncomfortable place to get food … and it’s a shame as I live round the corner and would rather and do drive up to the fish shop at upper Headingley rather than here….

Been twice now, after a recommendation. Food, atmosphere, staff all brilliant... really friendly owner, always there front of house. Had lamb first visit, & pan fried calves liver this time. Exquisite on both occasions with good wine choice too. Hoping to have room for dessert next time!!!

Was passing and the restaurant looked lovely. Food and service were fantastic. We both had the lamb and it was so tender and so tasty. The Shiraz was lovely. Highly recommended.

Very nice. Best fish and chips I've had in a long time. Really light tasty batter and perfectly cooked flaky fish. Good friendly service too.
