The Arch Climbing Wall
Absolutely great place to go and the kids love it. The staff are great and knowledgeable, the vibe is good and they have great offers to make it accessible to families. The building is also really impressive and has a rich history which the team are really passionate about sharing. We try to go regularly.

Riding on the coat tails of previous good reviews.OK for beginners only but for actual climbers - poor use of space, terrible setting and weird panels. Only saving grace is the moon board.Having now been to other walls in London I felt like this place stole my money esp as they sold me the worst liquid chalk I have ever had the displeasure of putting on my hands (I had forgotten my normal chalk).

This place seems to be not kids/family friendly. Poor understanding and service at the entrance of the place. They told us to leave a very small kid scooter outside of the building, totally insane. Guys you could charge an additional fee for this but is not the best way to treat your clients. This is my last time coming to this place.

Many very carefully created climbing walls that give all kinds of challenges. There are even some walls that look like items that you would find in a normal house, which is very fun to climb.Furthermore, there is a gym with all kinds of equipment, including a rowing machine and gym weights.Lastly, the price is quite low with a ~£10 day pass for an adult and ~£7 for a child.Overall, a great experience.

Newly refurbished wall with friendly staff and lots of space. Rental shoes are brand new and the walls are well maintained and tidy. Plenty of walls to climb for all difficulties. There are lockers, changing rooms and even a cafe. Had a great time, am exhausted!

Arch Acton has really gone downhill since a few years ago when I started climbing there. Although I only live a 5 minute walk from it, I opt to travel ~35 minutes via tube to a different gym now for a far better experience. My climbing has also dramatically improved since going to a new gym too (far better routesetting / range of holds).- The route-setting is really not great at all - it seems to have gotten even worse in the last year or so. There is nothing interesting or inspiring about them at all.- The routes barely ever get reset. I come here on average about once every six weeks, and often there will be no change to the walls whatsoever.- The holds are so tired and old, some barely have any grip at all. They are all pretty samey too. There aren't many large dynamic fun holds.- The colour system used for grading means that there is only so much variation a route/grade can have. If you climb V4 say, then you will always be climbing using the exact same holds, just a different placement. It would be far better if the routes were individually graded, and could therefore use any of the holds. It makes it harder to improve this way too.- The centre has become quite kid-focussed. Often there are lots of children who run around screaming, unsupervised. It's very off putting when you want to get a good session in. The amount of times I have had kids run underneath me etc.- It is absolutely BALTIC in the winter. I have to climb wearing my puffer jacket - no kidding.- The toilets are pretty old and grim. The lockers are quite dirty too - it seems they never clean inside them.Positives:- staff are always nice and friendly- the moonboard and spraywall upstairs are good- the new weights/gym area is an improvementOverall though, if you are a serious climber who wants to get some serious training in, then this centre is not worth it.

Some nice problems, but a few start tags missing. Traverses on the upper circle are not on the Top Logger app. Awful music like Arch North. No real milk for free members coffee, so didn't get a drink :( No parking anywhere near by, so used the train which took an hour, so unlikely to visit again.

where I learn to boulder, the introduction workshop they had was great. very interesting art deco theater converted into a bouldering gym. the best part is the comp wall where the stage of the theatre would have been, with routes for all ages. The worst unfortunately is the grading/difficulty approach, because of the colour system which limits what they can do. they have 1 colour for each difficulty (V0-V1 for example). After a while you get used to the holds that are on your difficulty and even after resetting the routes the type of boulders are predicatable. Since they don't have large or weird holds on the beginner colours, they won't set a beginner problem with large volumes. You cannot introduce advanced" holds progressively with this approach because the advanced holds are not available in the beginner colours. I much rather preffer the approach where any colour can be any difficulty
