I've read the negative comments on the web site and find it difficult to understand how they vary so much to my own experience.I was involved with them for a year from buying a run down property, through refurbishment to sale.I found the office staff and viewing team responsive and good at taking the initiative in working with potential buyers.The manager was very good, including offering appropriate property values and suggestions as to where and where not to spend money during the renovation. He has a good knowledge of the market and actively improved the marketing of the property. This and his positive approach produced a speedy sale at a price in excess of the guided one.The rewards from renovating have declined over the last few years and the risks have increased so I have reluctantly 'hung up my boots'.I'll miss the industry and the pleasure of working with teams like Emsleys

Hi all. Where do I start? Rude, aggressive and unprofessional staff with an unprincipled work ethic. For example, If I happened to miss a phone-call they would ring and ring until I answered, calling at least nine times within a 4-minute window until I picked up and then questioning the delay in me answering. I felt very harassed as I was working full time and dreaded any interaction with Emsleys. My solicitor was also shocked at their behaviour - saying within her 15-year career she had never dealt with an Estate Agent that was so incompetent, aggressive and careless. Emsleys also tried to play both solicitors (buyer and seller) against one another regarding completion, this only stopped when challenged with the evidence of mismanagement. Emsleys also gave my phone number to the seller I was buying from - I was deeply unhappy about this, the Agent did not care and I was told - it was an error." The whole process was

This company is run by clowns who have no idea what they're doing. Use them only if you want extra stress in your life. My experience with their estate agents team was an absolute disaster while I was trying to sell my house, and I had to change agents. Every possible point they could've messed me around they did so. Poor communication, lost my keys, didn't send me documents I requested multiple times, made illegal mistakes on my house advert, gave me the wrong address for their own office, left my door open after a viewing, gave multiple pieces of incorrect information to my viewers, etc etc etc.

First class service. Professional and helpful staff. Never struggled to speak to anyone, they helped chase things down and kept good contact between buyer and seller. Always contactable and informative and not over priced for sale of property.

What a shame, I'm so disappointed. Last week I rang to make an appointment for someone to come and value my house. Lee arrived on time, and was very personable. He wore a face covering and was easy to chat to. I had 2 other agents coming, but as Lee knew the house history, I decided to put it on the market with Emsley's. Documents to sign were sent through quickly and returned.Someone then rang to say that the photographer would be round on Monday the following week at 09:30. Lee came on Saturday and he was quick at talking measurements and descriptive info. He left saying that the photographer would be here on Monday at half past nine. This is where it went wrong.When it got to ten, and the photographer hadn't arrived, I rang the office and got the answerphone, saying everyone was on a call and to leave a message. After leaving a message, and trying to get through several more times, I sent an email to Lee, saying that I wanted to cancel the contract. I still had no response, so I left another message , to make sure they had received the email.Someone finally rang from the office to say that they had got the email, and everything had been cancelled down. She did not ask for any explanation, and when I asked her if she wanted to know why I was cancelling she said no

Rachel Rollinson has been a tremendous help in the purchase of my new property. I have never had any body give so much help as Rachel has done in the last month. Always seems to have or can get the answer that I require. My experience is that Rachel gets things done. Thank you Rachel from the family Wright

I hate estate agents. Like literally HATE them - until i met Lee & co at the Rothwell branch. I bought a house off them and loved how they were, so then proceeded to buy and sell 2 more houses with them. I have never had any issues, they are professional, timely and considered. Lee is reliable and honest (which is all you can ask for in my eyes). I have bought and sold lots of houses over the years and never met any agents that i liked (i've been close to killing a few thats for sure) . I knew once i met Lee & Co that this time it would be different, and , it was. Personally now for me, i would never use another agent or online system. The personal service is worth every penny in my eyes. And yes sometimes they don't answer the phone and yes sometimes its takes a while to find things out, but this is just par for the course. I am staying LOYAL to them because of the service they offer, its a simple as that. I enjoy working with them - they are ACE!

I sincerely hope I never have to deal with this company again. I certainly wont deal with the negotiator involved. Despite both the client and negotiator being informed of our position prior to our offer being accepted, our offer was then rejected 2 days later, due to the client finding a property and wanting to progress in a hurry. We were not given an opportunity to get things sorted on our side and instead received an abrupt, frankly rude email from the negotiator. We received 2 acceptable offers on our property on the same day we received the email. The negotiator didnt even bother to check before sending this email and was rude, unprofessional and lacking a personable manner and didn't seem to care how we had been messed around.

From putting our house on the marketing for less than a week we sold the property. Valuation was higher than other local estate agents as well. Great communication from the team throughout, always willing to chase the other parties involved. Cannot fault them really it’s stressful selling a house and not easy for everyone involved - Emsleys estate agents pulled there weight and it all went through in less than 3 months - during COVID 19 ! Well done Emsleys
