Lots of good stuff (and some less good, as you'd expect) - many bargains to be had. I'm on a budget furnishing a house I've just moved into and have picked up several good items. The people leaving one-star reviews because they don't get treated like royalty or can't be bothered to check opening hours, can go to Newbury's well-known department store for their household goods - good quality, respectful staff, and prices to match! The Furniture Project is a charity run by volunteers, and as such, does a great job. (And you get 1/3 off if you're a pensioner or on benefits.)

Actually thought this was a great place to get furniture and wanted to donate myself as moving house. They ask for photos of items etc then arrange delivery if they are happy with the item, all sorted and awaited delivery, even spoke to someone on the phone who told me it was a lovely sofa. They get the original date wrong so I am left having took annual leave for no one to show up. Willing to let this one go. They come the following Monday (I now only have a week until I move out), and refuse to take it as apparently it’s not good enough, bare in mind there is absolutely nothing wrong with the sofa. Now I have a week to find out what to do with a large sofa, with no money to get the council to pick up.Try to do a nice thing for the community and they have absolutely ruined it. Will not be shopping there again and will take my belongings somewhere a little more grateful. Fuming doesn’t cover it.Won’t be using them again and will be advising my friends not to be going there. **Not to mention the drivers very racist comments about other members of the community!!**

A great place run by incredible volunteers. They collect anything from furniture to push bike. All secondhand but in good condition.

Absolutely superb! Both gentlemen were polite, hard working and told me all about the other charities you support. What a great charity this is and I want to thank you so much for collecting the furniture items today. Best of wishes Emily Montgomery

Two lovely guys came today to collect a lot of furniture from our house. One very heavy desk seemed no problem to them. They were quick and efficient, didn’t damage or scratch a thing in our narrow victorian property.I regularly visit and have always come home with some kind of treasure. Staff are always so helpful and constantly busy helping customers or restocking the floor with more gems.

You need to keep your wit's about you, recently dropped back a seriously faulty bike. The warehouse guy removed the saddle bag and the contents went missing, perhaps considered the perks of The job. Charity do not admit to their faults and are great at procrastinating. However did fix the bike after asking to pay for the seriously worn parts. (Did make a donation for the repairs even though I had only had the bike for 4 days). There are a good number of bargains to be had for sure. But keep a close eye on your personal position's. NB: there is a new charity shop opened next to Gregg's, the bakery, Newbury, worthwhile checking out as well.
