Hortico Plant Centre

A very poor gift. Having purchased this Damson Tree as my BirthdayPresent to include in a large orchard in our walled garden we have watched with more than a little dismay as the last edition has died. The orchard is looking great with the exception of the Damson purchased from Hortico. The latest edition a green gage is looking fantastic but the Damson which was not inexpensive is deal was dead and will never be anything other than dead. The buds are dead even the one green leaf turn brown and died. I have never complained about a plant before thinking that it was our fault but as we had an arborist here to remove a very large redwood we asked him to check this tree and he advised us that it had almost certainly been kept in a un sheltered position and had started to bud up got frosted for a second time and the damage was done and we were the misfortunate customers coming down the track who purchased this tree. It is planted in a warm and sheltered spot here but it was not in such a location at Hortico Garden Centre. We look at this dead tree from our house and every guest asks why we have a dead tree in our orchard and what are we waiting for? Well I have heard this too many times now and we would like to bring back this tree, with it's label still on purchased from yourselves and replaced please - I have left a message on the mobile answer phone as there is no email address and no landline contact number on the very limited web site, which legally should display both. Very cross.

The friendly and knowledgeable staff are always on hand with information and advice. We especially appreciate the home-grown Christmas trees each year, but they have a fantastic range of plants available throughout the year.

A nursery that’s a treat to visit, a lovely selection of plants and always someone on hand to offer advice. During lockdown they delivered plants to me at home and literally brought so much joy to me and my son. Love a little coffee stop there too.

Such great value plants and excellent advice. I know when I buy plants from Hortico they will do well in my little garden - the only issues I have had is due to me trying to plant in the wrong place. I recently bought some super priced plants to do my own baskets and even after a couple of weeks the plants have exceeded all expectations.

Absolutely love Hortico. I’ve bought many plants from them over the three years I’ve lived in the area and every one has looked amazing. Visited today and topped up for the summer with the sale. Love to buy Christmas trees from them too. Piers is friendly and knowledgeable, as is the rest of the team.Very very very very happy with my purchases and the customer service!

Discovered Hortico just over a year back and so glad to have found this local gem! We've had many plants, a Christmas tree and even wreaths from here. All plants have are flourishing and we've received fantastic advice on selecting the right species for our garden and goals. Thanks!

Wow, what a fantastic nursery Hortico is! Not only are the staff incredibly helpful and friendly, but they welcome dogs. Our little pooch loves the place just as much as we do.On each occasion we’ve attended, parking has been easy and we’ve come away with a beautiful plant including a variety of roses, hydrangeas and trees- all of which have been very reasonably priced.We certainly would recommend a trip to Hortico, particularly if you need a little help or guidance (like we do)!
