Coil Springs 1989 Ltd

!!!One very disappointing experience!!! I`ve made an enquiry to them about a set of lowering coil springs that i needed made for my car . They asked me to post them the original springs and they will have to either lower my springs for £95 cash or make a new set or around £50+vat each . I agreed with them to send them the springs and £100 cash payment. Once they received the springs they said that they will call me to decide together on the best option, either lowering them or make a new complete set. I sent them the set of springs by next day recorded delivery . I also wrote a letter in with my requirements and i placed in the box, in an sealed envelope together with my payment of £100 in cash. I posted the box and i emailed them to confirm. They said that they will call me once they received it . They received the box next morning at 10 am . I didn`t get a call back so i rang them at 3pm .They said they received the springs but they didn`t have the chance to check them but they will do it the next day and they`ll call me back by 10am. The next they i rang them at 10:30 as they didn`t call me back . They said they received the springs but not the payment,saying the box had a split when it arrived and the payment must`ve been lost . I told them that the payment was in a folded letter and in a sealed envelope .They said they will look into it and call me later. About 2h later they rang me and changed the story saying that the courier (Parcelforce) told them that they dropped the box and all the springs came out so they have to put everything back in and maybe that`s when the envelope got lost. I told them that i`ll make my way up there to talk to them in person . They insisted not to go there but just send them an email explaining what i need done with the springs. They already had emails from me with all the details ,since i placed the enquiry and up to 2 days before ,when i sent the parcel . I went up there to talk to them and collect the springs. That was a 500miles trip as i was travelling from brighton to sheffield . I arrived there . The person i that i spoke with earlier on on the day wasn`t there . I asked one of their workers about the springs . he told me a different story again ,saying that the box was completely ripped apart they they received it and they didn`t find the payment. I just took the springs and left . Parcelforce would not do any of those things they blamed them for . They could`ve not known that i had 2x£50 notes in a folded letter and sealed envelope . The envelope had the receivers name on it as well . The same name that was on the box . Even if they removed the payment ,they would`ve most probably informed me as i really don`t think they are thieves. I know i shouldn`t have agreed to send them cash but i chose to take the risk and trust them . Bad mistake as i spent a full day and another £100 in fuel to get there ,take the springs and take them to a different company to have them made . That place is a mess . I don`t want to see it ever again . That was my experience with them . If you decide to work with them ,good luck to you .

my coil burnt out

Enquired about getting my springs lowered and was recommended by a friend to use these guys and they did not disappoint I got my springs back shorted and painted, they look brand new! Really happy with them can't wait to fit them! Highly recommended

In answer to Jay P we would like to present our point of view.We can only apologize for the outcome. We can appreciate that for Mr P this was disappointing and can fully understand his frustration and sympathize with his feelings here.However, in fairness to the company, we cannot be held responsible for what happens with a courier service and on this occasion the courier is at the route of he problem. We have many parcels delivered and very few get damaged. The law of averages would suggest that sooner or later this may happen. We are sorry that on this occasion things worked out this way. We often ask customers to send springs in to us as a pattern or for adjustment and it rarely goes wrongThe 500 mile trip was not needed as we would gladly send the pattern back and often do so at the customers request. Mr P is insisting that the story has been changed but in reality it is the same story- the courier damaged the box and some of the contents came out He may have been given a little more information but it is essentially the same story. The reason why the person he originally spoke to was not there was because he works part time for the company it was certainly not a matter of avoiding him.Coil springs has a good reputation for offering a first class service and has helped many customers with uprated and lowered spring kits a well as standard springs based on a wealth of information held on record for a variety of vehicles. We do our best to offer a good product at a fair price and are sorry that the outcome on this occasion was not as we would have wanted

Terrible service . I was asked to send cash in the box, along with the springs from my car , just so they can modify (lower) them. All sent by parcelforce recorded service . Couple of days later they said that they received the springs but not the cash ,then I had to travel all the way from london to collect my springs , to get them done elsewhere. So , it was just a waste of time , money stolen from me and even more fuel expenses to get there and back , when i had to collect the springs in the original condition . Massive disappointment !
