The staff are brilliant, more like family. During this Covid season, because the shop had its quota of customers, they agreeably took my order outside on the street as I was waiting for a bus. I handed over my card and I got the item I requested, a receipt and my card back in seconds. Now that is my kind of shopping.They are the old fashioned hardware store I remember from my childhood: kind, helpful and full of items I need all under one roof.

I always head for Hurst when I'm in the area. It really is the jewel in the crown of Ventnor High Street. Whether it's for an item the staff can help me find, or something I didn't know I needed until I saw it, it is such an enjoyable and traditional way to shop. The staff go out of their way to be helpful, and are so friendly. It's quite a Tardis too. Please never change.

A great place to visit. Half of it back in time like the Old Ironmongers Shops with most hardware you can want, nails, screws, drills, tools, paint and all sorts of items like that. Then you have all the modern electrical appliances and power tools household items, cutlery, crockery, just such a good range of products and most important of all, great staff with a brilliant sense of humor AND knowledge of the products that they sell. They have saved me so many waisted journeys into Newport - when I can get what I want in Ventnor instead. That is great by me.

Always polite & helpful on the phone. When I went in today to collect a hedge trimmer I had reserved, excellent customer service. The dapper assistant even made sure I caught my bus back to Shanklin by carrying my purchase over to the bus for me.

A proper traditional hardware store and long may it last. You used to see these in every town, the kind of place where you could get almost anything and my first 'port of call' for odd items, anything a little unusual or things rarely stocked by any of the major stores.There are branches all over the island, but I particularly like the Ventnor shop, which has a kind of 'Open All Hours' vibe about it.
