Crown Buffet Chinese Restaurant
My relatives frequent this establishment and knows the proprietor pretty well. Overall, not a bad dining experience place is packed when we arrived for lunch. Arrived late during dinner, so there weren't that many people (no pics as we were famished. Sorry) definitely would return when we're at Leeds the next time.

Great for dim sum. I’ve been coming here for a few years. Somehow it tastes different every time when I come and have the dim sum. Spacious restaurant but the parking space in front of the building is very limited. Overall good!

It's suppose to be a buffet but it's not that kind of traditional buffet restaurant. You can order as much as you want from their buffet menu and they will bring it to the table. They say that you can order more when you have finished the whole lot what's on your table. The trouble is that if you want something you'll have to flag a waitress down and it takes a little while for it to get to you. For example we wanted boiled rice with the meal but had to wait at least five to ten minutes to get to our table whereas with traditional buffet you can just go and get what you want. Also, it's suppose to be halal but you wouldn't be able to tell which meals are halal since they have no indication on their menu. Just have to be careful what you pick and ask before ordering. They do however have an alternative a la carte menu and the waitresses were friendly enough.

Definitely not a buffet. False advertising.You order from the menu as you would in a non-buffet restaurant. However, it is capped to the buffet price.You don’t get your meal as soon as it is ordered, as this takes time to be prepared (as in a non buffet setting). So this defeats the purpose of an actual buffet because it took between 20-30 minutes (if not more) to serve each meal. And the quantity served was lesser because it’s a ‘buffet’, according to them.It feels like a rip off because, we were then told that we can’t spend longer than 2 hours and could no longer be served.If food was readily available like a normal buffet, we wouldn’t have even spent that long.I’ve had a buffet somewhere else that cost £12.99 and had better food in less time.This arrangement was odd and was a waste of my time and money.I still had to go somewhere else to eat because I was not full(after having a supposed ‘buffet’).

Not bad, portions are very small, which is fine as it's all you can eat....but with the slow service it can be a bit tedious. The decor is the same as it was in 2003, but more run down over time. Food is good when it arrives and there are plenty of options.

Great Dim Sum place! Lots to choose from, didn't have to wait long for food, came out piping hot!Friendly staff and reasonable prices too! Definitely recommend and will be back soon!

Crown Buffet Chinese Restaurant
Went with my friend last night for a change as we both like All you can eat buffets & we hadn't been for a while. Unfortunately it was a let down last night & we won't be going again now. The service was poor & the language barrier was an issue with one of the main waitresses, so we struggled to tell her our order. My food was really nice when it actually arrived but some of my friends food was cold or luke warm on arrival. We still enjoyed our night but we were disappointed with the restaurant. In my opinion it was a lot better when it was a self serve buffet like most others. Maybe the restaurant owners need to consider going back to this??

We came from Manchester to Leeds on coach for a day trip, as there were not many Chinese dim sum restaurants to choose from for lunch. We chose Crown Buffet as it was closer to the town center. We had 5 dim sum, only 2 out of 5 passed muster, therefore only 2 stars were given.The egg tarts were not even lukewarm, they were just cold. The deep fried dough balls were not fried adequately, the dough was too thick and the stuffing was not yummy. The worst ones stood out the lunch was the spare ribs in black bean sauce, not a kick of garlicky or black bean tastes was available, the taste was plain. Also, the meat texture softness was not my liking. It was the worst spare ribs in black bean sauce I had in my past 50 odd years.

A lovely first visit to one of the few remaining Chinese buffets in Leeds city centre, the staff were welcoming and very accommodating and we were seated quickly... Drinks were taken first and then food orders from the buffet menu were taken, portion sizes were more than adequate and came freshly cooked which is always a nice thing to see and taste.I have only marked down atmosphere due to some rowdy customers getting sweary and loud at staff so this and I have to stress WAS ONLY ON THE DAY I VISITED and is not a staple of how the venue normally will be, I'm sure though it can be loud with families and groups it won't be aggressive like the night I went.All in all it was a nice change and took me back to the days when we used to have buffets by the market and up on the headrow!

Sooo good and the staff are all so sweet. Amazing food and great value. The food is cooked to order as opposed to being sat in a heater, so you can order as much as you want and they'll keep coming. The food comes out in small(ish) dishes, to prevent food waste, but you can order as much as you like. At £21.99pp you can't go wrong!
