Enjoyed a latte in here before travelling to York. Not very clean, crumbs all over the table. However it was ok.

It's fairly good for me. Quiet and private zone to relax yourself. There's also a good range of drinks, snacks and fruits to choose. Toilets are very clean. If the 1st ticket is a little more expensive (which you can find them quite often), there's no reason not to buy it. Last time I travelled I paid only £4 more than the standard ticket and could enjoy all services including a meal on board and a very comfy seat. All in all, very recommended.

I'd rate higher yet feels a waste, as much enjoying taking the rails, times feels they take the people for an advantage, mean really? Once you've passed the barriers" your end up in this trapped environment

I think the service is not up to standard . They provide a menu but stuff not available. My sister and I travel from London at the weekend the staff who did the buffet cart one especially was rude my sister asked for crisps and a muffin she was told she couldn’t have both now we payed for this service this service should be available . GNER was a much better service. LNER don’t like to give stuff to customers

The entrance is next to Waitrose. You go up in a lift to the 1st floor & then you need to show your train tickets to the desk clerk to gain entry. When we visited, there were only a few seats left, but the room didn't feel cramped. There are a couple of hot drink machines & a fridge full of water.Snackwise, there are biscuits, pastries & bags of crisps. There is a separate, quiet area for those who wish / need to work whilst waiting for their train. The staff were very friendly, welcoming & helpful. Our inaugural travel with LNER was very good.

It’s nice to know that it exists, but it’s fairly basic. Staff were pleasant upon arrival checking tickets. Crisps and biscuits are the only food on offer. With small investment it could be far better and more attractive to customers.

Was on the station around 2000hrs, intending to take some photographs, when the station staff decided (after some time) that photography was not allowed without permission. At York we simply had to report to the ticket information office. Everywhere, and I mean everywhere, at Newcastle was closed so where on earth do you get such permission from? No refreshment facilties and there was only one WC open due, according to railway staff, to persistent drug problems. This station is the major station for the northeast and is NOT a good advert for the region. Recently Itravelled from Darlington to London where the stations, staff and train service could not have been better. Newcastle would do well to learn from their colleagues further south.
