First time here booked for Sunday lunch.Very good selection , veg cooked very well still firm. Roast potatoes little disappointing, but the Yorkshire pudding and stuffing very nice, meat selection very good, I personally liked the pork belly the best. Will certainly be back soon for another visit.Staff all very friendly and welcoming, nice cosy atmosphere but in a modern setting.

We didn’t stay in a room so can’t comment. We popped in for lunch on 28/19/23. Our server was Morgan who was helpful and able to go through the menu choices and made recommendations in relation to the menu. The food is excellent and reasonably priced.

I had a Xmas business lunch here and was very impressed with the food, service and lovely feel of this restaurant. Nothing was too much trouble and we would love to return. Food was hot and presented beautifully. Thoroughly recommend.

Came here for a meal the Vegetables were beautifully presented but so uncooked we couldn't even cut through them and basically most of our group couldn't eat them so they got left, such a shame. I'd have expected the parsnip to be cooked! The mini roasted potato was cooked though. The people that served us were lovely. Also there was zero soap in the toilets so it seems that no one is actually checking the toilets.

Just had a delicious three course meal from their festive menu. The staff were polite, friendly and helpful. We have not stayed in the rooms so can't comment on that. The pub was warm and welcoming would definitely recommend.

This is a review for the rooms, not the pub.Checking in was smooth, and I was greeted by a very pleasant member of staff who explained everything to me and pointed me to the room. The room itself on the outset was very nice, and the shower was brilliant. Now, sadly, onto the bad points. There was a very odd smell coming from the toilet, which may have been a drain issue. We kept the bathroom door shut overnight because the smell was strong enough to start creeping into the room.We may have overlooked this, had the bed been comfortable. The mattress was incredibly firm, and I woke up several times in the morning from discomfort. It's a real shame because without this, everything else was pretty good.

Lovely warm and welcoming surroundings. Lunch with friends. Clare looked after us and was very attentive and helpful. The food was well presented and the portions were generous. It would have been perfect but the sea bass was a little dry.

Went for evening meal 08/12/2023. Two couples. Ordered our meals together at the bar but on two bills.one couples meals came a long while before the other two in party. On complaining about this the head waitress said it was because it was in two bills in querying we asked for meals to be bought out together she I dusted it was due to their systems. When one persons meal came out he had a little banter with the junior waitress saying he hadn’t been given as many tomatoes as his friend all in fun despite the justified complaint from us with meals not being bought together this waitress smiled back . The head waitress then came out saying he shouldn’t speak to her waitress like that and had sworn at her, this really was not true and we told her so, she herself was quite rude and unprofessional in her approach and ruined our evening. Based on this we would never come back recommend it !

We stayed here for two nights and had both breakfast and dinner. The food was tasty, well presented and we were attended to by lovely staff. I don't think there was anything that could have been improved on. The menu was varied, but perhaps a couple of specials each evening, if we were staying longer might have extended the choice even further. We will definitely be back if we are in the area again.
