Absolute shambles of a customer service team. They do nothing but lie to you. Been lied to constantly for weeks. Due a refund and we'll so much red tape they have to get through to give back something that already belongs to me. Heaven forbid my DD was hrs late. Can't wait to get my final bill then I can be rid of this despicable company. Pretty sure when they employ people the word liar on your cv gets you to the top of the queue to be accepted. Somehow paying for Buckingham Palace every month in my 2 bed semi prices are extortionate. Rip off lying joke is what they are.

I have tried to talk to their customer service dept. for weeks finally resorted to Facebook. Sent me text about my query and then replied that I owed them money on account that was not mine. Already went to the Ombudsman about this company last year and won and will be doing so again.

Shambolic company. Total cowboys. Must be run by muppets, as don’t know what they’re doing. All like robots, reading the notes yet the problems never get sorted but they are quick to send to communication about the query you have, when they won’t bloody listen to the query or sort it. You will get further trying to eat a bowl of stones then get an end result with this mob.I had a key meter that you top up to get electricity so pay for there and then, and they’re saying I owe them money and saying to ignore the letters as it’s a glitch but sending me texts saying if I don’t pay I’ll get a bad credit rating or bay lifts will collect…Rogue traders needed for this mob, clowns!

SSE changed my direct debit amount contrary to Direct Debit Guarantee rules without notifying me. I complained have yet to receive a suitable response. Indeed any communication has been from anonymous customer care individual.I indicated to treat it as a formal complaint. I will now be complaining to the Ombudsman. Shocking customer care

This is the worst company I have ever dealt with in my entire life! I have been reported to a debt collecting agency for a bill that has been incorrectly estimated, and after I gave a new reading and paid the correct amount! I am absolutely flabbergasted by their complete and utter incompetence. I have spent hours on the phone trying to rectify the problem and requested a subject data access request in June which they have ignored. Despite having three phones calling different numbers at the moment - I am 45 minutes in and no one had answered. Please think very carefully before using this supplier.

Estimated bill for account closed over a year ago by their Head of Customer Services, Heidi Louise. I now think that is a 'ghost person'. Been hounded by debt recovery agency.DISGUSTING COMPANY

Extremely disappointed with the service I am being given by SSE.We have been calling daily for over a week to arrange for a meter to be moved as we are having work done on our house and need it relocated.Every time I have called I am having to re explain myself to the agent.There is limited knowledge and no power to get through to the right department and or escalation with managers.The agents can take 30 mins to 1hr to get through and explain your issue. Almost as if notes on accounts are not being recorded and re explanations are required each time you call.They promise emails, call back and you don't get anything back.I even raised this as a complaint and had no written acknowledgement.I have raise with ofgem too who managed to put me in touch with their escaltions team and again was promised an email confirming steps taken and a call back and I have had nothing. I have never experienced service like this from anywhere I have dealt with. It is absolutely shocking and not acceptable in any way shape or form.This issues need to be answered.I have been reading through other complaints and similar service is being given across to other customer and across the business.Whilst I understand that you have sold the business on, current SSE clients have not been made aware and poor service is not going to get you to retain your clients.I do hope that these messages are taken seriously, it is not acceptable guys!!

If I could give a minus in stars I would. We've been with SSE for a very long time and never have I had such disgusting service. I usually pay by direct direct, but recently found that SSE owed me more than £600 pounds in credit. I have now had 3 calls to the call centre where I'm sorry to say spoke to people who I had difficulty understanding. This has taken more than 3 weeks to be told I had to wait longer for my own money. I have cancelled my direct debits with them now. No longer will you keep my money and I have to fight to get it back.

I have been trying to get a replacement for a faulty In-House-Display (IHD) which is linked to their so called SMART meter. I have been asking for one year. No explanation, no replacement IHD. SSE have developed a dysfunctional company culture leading to abuse to their customers.Things you can do.• Invoice their accounts department in Perth for the time they have caused you to waste• report them to the Energy Ombudsman where you will learn SSE have 8 weeks to sort your issues• Stop paying their bills, until your issue is sorted• Change supplierGood luck, companies like this need taught a lesson

Wish I could put a minus rating.Moved in to a property at the end of 2018, by 2019 despite paying a decent direct debit bill was over £3000. Called in early 2019 to query why.Account was sent to 'back office' to investigate.New bill came back as over £11,000.Called again for an explanation, new bill now over £15,000.Again, account was sent to back office, new bill £1,700 with no explanation as to how they could come up with such outlandish amounts and then just write them off.Still queried the £1,700 which then in a matter of days went up to over £3,000 again, then over £5,000 while the house was empty.Now, since moving house, SSE or Ovo are trying to say I owe over £7000 and they cannot investigate, as when I moved house they closed the account.They said I would have to get in touch with the new tenant or owner and ask them to call SSE and open a dispute and until I do this, I will have to pay the almost £8,000 bill.So off to the Ombudsman I go then!I religiously entered actual meter readings via the app, only to have them changed to something completely different, or just deleted, so I started taking photos of the meter, and even after email photographic proof directly to SSE, the amounts were still changed.Very suspicious and shoddy behaviour on behalf of SSE.
