Great boot fitting service. From the first contact to walking out of the door with my new boots, the advice and service was great.The guys are knowledgeable and helpful and managed to stay friendly and welcoming despite being absolutely rushed off their feet.I'm very, very happy with my new boots, taking the time to get them fitted properly is well worth it!

Been trying for years to get a pair of walking boots that fit my clown feet properly. After reading through the really useful information on the Backcountry UK website and then speaking to them (they all joined in trying to work out what would be best for me to try) on the phone, decided to pop in to get myself properly fitted.I'm so very glad I did, fantastic shop with an enthusiastic knowledgeable team running it. The internet is a great place for buying things, but sometimes you need to go and see somebody who knows what they're talking about and Backcountry UK is the place to go if you need some walking boots fitted. It's not just about straight sizes. Different makes have different width options and different fits that will suit different feet better. These guys know their stuff and their stock.After having my feet measured properly for the first time since my last pair of primary school shoes, I'm now the proud owner of the best fitting pair of anything I've ever had and looking forward to our imminent walking holiday without any blisters or painful feet!I'll definitely be going back here if I need anything else and for the skiers out there, I presume good fitting is equally important if not more so - Backcountry UK is where to go.Thanks to the whole team for your help, a very satisfied customer and I hope you are there for many years to come. The very definition of what a physical shop is for.

I am an experienced skier and have bought several pairs of custom fit boots over the years. I have never had a pair of boots that have been fitted as well as those done by Phil at Backcountry UK. Phil is obviously an expert (more of a craftsman really) who understood exactly how to manipulate my boots to give me the best fit I’ve ever had. After the first trip I was even able to return to iron out some niggles… all “part of the service”.If you want the cheapest boots on the web don’t go here. If you want a slick operation that makes you feel like a VIP then you’re better off somewhere else. However, if you want the best ski boots for your specific feet fitted by experienced craftsmen who really care about their job then set aside a couple of hours and book in here, I certainly don’t regret making the trip here.

After my trusty old walking boots died I’ve really struggled to replace them. I have ‘difficult’ feet…. A bunion, plantar fasciitis, weak ankles and a collapsing arch, and every walking boot I’ve tried has aggravated one or all of these problems. I found the Backcountry website and today made the hour & a bit drive up to get some expert advice and a proper fitting. Absolutely brilliant! I was treated with patience and care by a guy who clearly knew his products and understood my problems. I have walked away, very happy, with a pair of walking boots and a pair of walking shoes that are SO comfy, I know I am going to love them. Can’t wait to get out in them tomorrow. Highly recommended.

Excellent friendly and helpful service. Ordered boots online and needed a larger size quickly before going on holiday. Telephoned store and they very efficiently sent a larger pair immediately. Boots are lovely, very comfortable.

Amazing service! you don't feel rushed and they are very knowledgeable. They help you to find the perfect fit no matter how long it takes. I have talipes so have wide flat feet, their Meindl Sulden and Meindl Meran both fit perfectly I've never been able to find a shoe or boot that fits as well as they do until now! They also do a wide range of ski and climbing gear such as fall mats and hiking rucksacks

Expert ski boot fitting and servicing advice...they cater for wide feet of which I have two ;) Out of the way means you get the attention you deserve. Took in boots bought elsewhere and a little time in the oven and a great result with free tweaks thereafter!
