Wasdale - Lake Head Car park

On arrival to the lake head car park (CA20 1EX) which is run by the national trust, we parked up with ease but could tell how quickly the car park would fill up on a bank holiday or summer holiday and especially when the weather was nice.Prices started at £5 for 2 hours, £7 up to 4 hours and £9 all day, make sure to have cash as there is no option for card even the national trust hut had a cash tin no card reader to be seen.It was a good initial starting point and we don't regret starting from here yes it's expensive but isn't everything now. They do have toilets and when the hut is open you have an opportunity to buy a map if needed. They also have a water filling station which I think is a great addition.A little note on the toilets it is a big hole in the ground so there is no flushing or water I guess it's compostable and an eco friendly alternative, they also had a sign up saying the toilets cost £12000 a year to maintain so maybe that's why the parking is as expensive as it is.All in all I think it's a great starting point just a tad expensive, worth it though if your not wanting to walk further than you have to.
