I've come across several solicitors/estate agents etc in my 4yr experience investing in properties, & I can wholeheartedly confirm that “Sheffield City Living Estate Agents” are up there with one of the worst I have ever had to transact with. They have no interest whatsoever in addressing buyers concerns, but a strong bias towards their client (seller) by purposely withholding information, misleading the buyer to progress with the purchase until the sale has completed, at which point any issues realised would now be at buyer’s expense. On the 18th Nov 2022, I attended a viewing for a property advertised for sale by “Sheffield City Living” and met their staff “Jonathan” who showed me around the property. The property was ideal for what I wanted, my only concern was that several internal doors in the apartment (most importantly the balcony door had locks but no keys present, when I walked into the balcony, I immediately realised there were no barriers between my balcony & the next-door neighbour’s prompting me to ask Jonathan if the keys (most importantly) for the balcony would be provided. His response was positive. (This was the initial viewing prior to an offer being made so I did not require a definite or specific response)On the 12th May 2023, I received a copy of the (“fittings and contents form and the Leasehold information form) from my solicitors in which they stated that if I wish to raise any enquiries about anything contained in these, I should let them know prior to completion.I booked a second viewing & attended on the 14th June 2023 & met Jonathan again however this time, I spent more time viewing the apartment, examining all details to ensure all fittings & contents were provided as stated.Again the main discussion was the close proximity of the 2 balconies, a person in any of the balconies (if they wanted to) can leap over & access the next apartment if the balcony door was unlocked, & it is important for my tenants/guests to feel safe knowing they have the option to lock the balcony door if needed so I specifically asked Jonathan again if the keys for the balcony doors will be provided, & Jonathan replied “Yes” they will be provided.Friday 7 July 2023, I went into the Sheffield City living Office to collect the keys and left with a “fob” and 2 different keys. One key opened the apartment entrance door (no spares) & the second key did not open/lock or belong to any door in the apartment.I contacted Jonathan on Monday 10 July 2023 to let him know the second key did not open/lock any of the doors in the apartment & expected him to say “there was a mix-up, but instead he was going to check with his client (After 9 months of incorporating the property into their selling literature).I had to contact Jonathan again on the 11th July 2023 about the keys as he did not get back to me as promised. At which point I found out there was no key for neither the balcony door nor any of the other locks in the apartment. When I confronted Jonathan about being misled, his response was I quote:“As I said, you would have to go back through the solicitor. The property has completed and we no longer have anything to do with it as our job is over.”The most basic expectation of a “competent” Estate Agent is “honesty & transparency”, but as a result of their deceit, I’ve had to forfeit £132 to have the locks replaced in addition to the large amount already invested in the purchase.I lodged a formal complaint with their internal team to bring to light expenses incurred as a result of being misled by their staff & the key message I extracted from their response was:“Jonathan assures me he would not have made any commitment about which keys would be provided as this is outside of our control.”Was it outside of their control to simply ask the vendor (their client) prior to completion if the keys for the internal locks were provided or not?I will advise any aspiring property investor who finds themselves having to transact with this Estate agent to ensure all communications are documented or pay the price!

I was thoroughly impressed by the exceptional support, help and time offered by Sheffield City Living. From the moment I started being in contact with them for the property I was renting they have shown nothing but professionalism, efficiency, and genuine care.Their knowledgeable staff are prompt in responding to any query or concern, making the entire rental process extremely easy and pleasant. The team seems to have a genuine passion for helping their clients and it's extremely nice to see this level of service in the letting industry.5/5 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

We have recently sold our property with Sheffield City Living and are very happy. Jonathan the Sales Manager was very professional and went over and beyond to keep us informed of proceedings and get us over the line to completion. I would definitely recommend these guys. 10/10.

I have recently sold a flat using Jonathan's services at Sheffield City Living.Throughout the process of selling, I have felt in experienced and safe hands. Jonathan found a buyer for the property quickly, and helped me to get a good sale price.Unfortunately for reasons out of our control, the sale dragged on for several months (cladding issues...!). Over this time, Jonathan worked tirelessly to chase answers for us regarding the cladding - despite this not being his responsibility. He kept the buyer interested and reassured at all times - as well as calming me down at several points! He was easy to reach on the phone and emails were always quickly responded to. Whilst he was on leave, he left me in contact with his colleague Tracey who was just as reliable and quick to respond - despite only taking over my property for a week.Originally I listed the property with an alternative agency, but found them to be slow, unresponsive and unmotivated to sell the flat. The difference between them and Sheffield City Living was vast.I have no hesitation in recommending using Sheffield City Living. Thank you Jonathan, Tracey and everyone else for your hard work and for getting my property sold.

The worst letting agent in the whole of the UK, their manager Jade needs to find a new profession, I have never ever dealt with someone so incompetent and useless, in a role where you are responsible for the livelihood of people and their homes that they are renting. Not to mention the public scandals in which Noble are associated with - this place needs shutting down, the property ombudsman are clearly not interested in attempting to intervene.

Please, keep away from them... especially if you're a student! They will charge you for ANY pre-existing damage that the property you're renting has (and trust me, it will have pre-existing damage, they don't look after their properties very well), it doesn't matter if you have proof that it was there when you arrived, if you don't notice it immediately and report it on their inventory, it will NOT count and they will charge you for it. I tried providing evidence in my case and they threatened me with charging me a higher fee so I had to accept the charges they had decided just so that I could avoid a higher fee. They will definitely take advantage of you. BEWARE.

My partner and I have rented properties with Sheffield City Living for over four years across two tenancies and have always found them to be friendly, professional and quick to resolve any issues or queries we have had, including maintenance issues which were always attended to promptly. Many thanks to the team at SCL for looking after us so well during our tenancies. We would recommend them to anyone!

I have previously had bad experiences with some of the big lettings agents in Sheffield, around both cost and bad service so I am reluctant to use them. However I have been so impressed with the service and affordability at Sheffield City Living. The best way I can describe them is that they treat your business as if it were their own, acting professionally at all times and responding to any queries really quickly. I had a new tenant move in just over a week from the listing going live on Rightmove and the process was totally hassle-free. Great service and I would highly recommend them to anyone.

Please ignore this review 'star' this was a mix up and previous comments, have now been deleted, and the star above which I cannot delete do not relate to this agency. Please note I have had no dealings with this agency and confused it with another of a similar name. Apologies. If this review can be deleted please do so.

If you're looking to rent, avoid this company at all costs. They'll try to keep your entire deposit after you leave.Customer support is awful. Any problems with your flat/house that you report, they will always say that it's your responsibility to fix. Sometimes, they'll even threaten you and say that if you waste their maintenance team's time, they'll charge you for it. Absolutely appalling. I've spoken to other people who rent with Sheffield City Living and I've heard similar stories.
