Danum Gallery, Library and Museum

What a great place. There is much more to see than I expected.The art gallery has an exhibition of beautiful watercolours celebrating Flying Scotsman.The museum has quite a lot of exhibits about Doncaster's history right from roman times.The basement has interesting railway exhibits in cases and also 2 locomotives, both built in Doncaster and the last surviving examples of their typeThere's a good cafe with a good selection of vegan choices.The library is large and well used and there are computers for people to use.

Lovely place and interesting information about our town now a city! Cafe was great menu varied chose sandwiches and pot of tea for 2, very well presented and tasty, staff very quick and attentive, will definitely be here again when more paintings on show as there were only a few on show possibly because a Lego display was being set up!

Absolutely loved the museum. It showed a vast range of the history of Doncaster and the local area from neolithic to modern day. Built on the site of the old girls' school and using some of the original building's architecture the Denum Gallery, Library and Museum is well worth visiting.They also currently have 2 of the steam trains that were made at the Doncaster Public Works on display.If you have a chance, spend some time viewing the King's Own Yorkshire Light Infantry (KOYLI) museum. It is beautiful and very moving without being over powering.One special feature is that in each part of the gallery and museum there is a library shelf with books relating to that section. Makes it more meaningful when browsing for books if you can see the tactile things that are being talked about.

Terrific museum, art gallery and library, all housed in the one building in Doncaster. One of the amazing things to see at night, is an illuminated old school building enclosed inside the glass exterior of the modern building. It's based on four floors and has a cafe and shop. There are interesting displays on steam trains, military, local interest, paintings and sculptures. It's a fantastic building for the whole community and every age.

Excellent experience. Great new location. Nice to see a lot of the old favourites from the former museum still on display. A lot of new exhibits and some interactive stuff. Highly recommended!

A great place to discover Doncaster. Free admission. There is a library, a museum and an art gallery in one place. There is a coffee shop on the first floor. A modern complex where you can spend your time usefully and interestingly. Pleasantly impressed, I want to come back.

Free entrance to a great children’s library and mini museum full of trains and other pieces of Doncaster history.Their cafe “1910” is clean and good value for money. Their children’s meal deal is a mix and match packed lunch for the kids.

We called in here for something to eat while we were in Doncaster our first time here and I can highly recommend the food and coffee great prices quality food you can also reserve a table.
