I had messaged the bakery after a visit a few weeks ago to complain about hygiene and received no response.The person at the salad bar uses his hands to pick up everything inspite of there being tongs.He asked me if I wanted a boiled egg and then proceeded to slice it without wearing any gloves.I really think all food should be handled with gloves or utensils and it put me off ever ordering a salad from here.The baked goods are also handled with bare hands.I do however like their bread and pastries,which are very good.

Pastries are good in general with very rich and generous fillings. Staff quite friendly and welcoming.Only issue for me is the use of bare hands to make the sandwiches and pack the bakeries for customers. Very disgusting and unhygienic. I complained about it but never got a response after inviting me to provide a feedback. Situation hasn’t changed.

Had a seafood sandwich in sourdough bread...massive portion...would have done 2 people.Then a lemon meringue pie...absolutely delicious.

Bad experience, reached Dundee by 4:12 waited at the bakery (Dundee) entrance over for 18 minutes as the sign read we be will be back in 5 mins. During this, I see the lady in the counter hoping for an acknowledgment. After awhile she’s come out to tell me that the shops shut at 4:30 pm. Definitely not customer focused. And stark contrast experience in St Andrews branch were the young lady was happy to explain and was proactive with her approach to help us. Loved all the pastries ( both savoury and sweet) and also cheesecake.

I quickly fell in love with this place and now get my lunch from there nearly every day when working in uni. Fisherman's slad and Basque cheesecake are my favourites. Not cheap but you get a very good quality food for your money.Never noted any issues with hygiene and the ingredients always seem to be fresh. Whoever made my salad today (03.05.23) -thank you! Portion size is very generous.
