Great place for a dog walk. Lots of paths and different routes. Car park entrance is very narrow.

I love this place, flat! Ground coverage is variable - trees and heather with lots of bird life. Lots of different paths including one I dubbed the 'Woodysaurus' trail. Can get really muddy and if it has trained or is raining, wellies recommended as once path gets naturally flooded whilst one of the back paths is really very squidgy. Dogs love it here where once well in they can run free safely, apart from the nesting season.

Nice alternative to some New Forest walks if you don't fancy the longer drive. It's a nice mix of open and forest paths with plenty of routes to choose from. Would be 5 stars if the car park near the ski centre was bigger and didn't have the dodgy rocks on the entrance.

Quite place perfect for dog walking. But bring water in hit day for doggies and wellies in the winter.

Be careful if you have a wide car! The car park here is only small and the entrance/exit is flanked by wooden posts and large boulders which will scratch your car if you are not careful or it is wide. I scraped my mercedes A class here before but easily squeezed my wife's Polo into the car park. Awesome walk with lots of paths. Nice and quiet with plenty of alternative routes to keep the kids guessing and the dog entertained

With limited car park space and a long path between the two sides of the woods this is a big enough place to take your dog for a walk and not have to worry about constantly bumping into someone. Perfect for my reactive pup who needs some space to himself

Being close to Hurn airport it is unsurprisingly a bit flat and samey with few views. You can get a proper long brisk 5 mile circuit walk here on gravel or grit paths. There are no short grass areas like in the forest except for scrubby grass tracts like firebreaks between some inclosures. The inclosures are coniferous pine, some are very dense. There is also some heather scrubland. Seems popular with cyclists. Some horse riders use the area too.A dog will love it but bear in mind signs advise that ticks lurk. Also startling very low flying aircraft come in to land. There are strong musky smells in many woods possibly due to foxes or other unseen wildlife like deer which a dog may chase if seen. That could end badly due to unfenced fast road near car park, an open barbed wire fenced forbidden MOD R&D area further North, and an airport to the South West.As others say, the two entrances to the small car park are just wide enough for a normal car if you squeeze through dead slow. Any lack of attention will result in a scrape from a boulder.

A lovely place for a walk, but sadly spoilt by the ridiculous amount of dog mess either left by owners, or bagged up then dumped on the edge of the pathway. Sure it doesn't apply to the majority, just a very inconsiderate few.Sad when you spend more time ensuring your toddler doesn't step in it, than enjoying the place!
