*** Updated ***Following a conversation with Millers, I am confident this was a one off experience. They were genuinely upset that I had had this experience and the passion and care that came across in that call makes me believe that this is not the usual standard of service.Travelled from Leeds to taste this well known fish and chip shops. Ordered both cod and haddock with chips and a bread cake. Price on the higher side I feel. We Watched a promo video before attending, I must say it was completely different to my expectations and not for the good! The fish was fried to order and the amount of oil on the fish was very excessive. The chips were cooked perfect. The mushy peas brilliant however, the curry sauce was very sweet and the gravy was like cement. The bread cake was stale and rock hard, wrapped in clingfilm and very small.The manager at the time lacked professionalism and direction to his younger team.

Second visit in 3 years. Consistent quality. Very good white haddock. A little small considering supposed to be regular and given the price. Chips very slightly underdone. Excellent service and very clean cafe.

Millers never disappoints. This time we booked a table were a bit worried to get a call to say that veggie options might not be available that evening. But when we arrived they had gone the extra mile and had fixed issue with veggie equipment, and our veggie daughter loved it. Best chippie no question. Curry sauce is second to none.

Astonishing to think that an award-winning fish and chip shop is located in the town of Haxby, and has been for the last 60 years or so.The new setup works perfectly, all food is cooked to order, which does mean a slight delay in being able to walk out with one of each" (typically 10 to 15 mins).This slight delay is nothing when you think that it means you are getting freshly cooked food

Simply the best on the area.the fish is all sustainably caught, the app makes ordering a queue free experience, the servers are always cheerful and helpful. They even provide a heated space under an outside umbrella to keep you dry and warm if you arrive before your food is ready.

Had Millers from the their popup shop in the shambles, would not recommend. The chips were half frozen and barely had any taste. I understand the wait, but for something weak like that, it wasn't worth it in any respect.Additionally, limited care for cross contamination was apparent after finding beetroot at the bottom of my chips.

+’sThe quality of the fish is excellent. Good service too. Without a doubt the best F&C takeaway I’ve had in Yorkshire.?’sPutting the salt and vinegar in its own packet in the main bag is a waste and doesn’t feel like the right thing to be doing in a waste conscious 2023.

Without doubt the very best fish and chips I have ever eaten. The care and attention that the Miller family put into their fish and chips is at a standard you’d find in a Michelin Stared restaurant, the quality of the fish the precise way they cook things is mind boggling. Yorkshire is well known for the quality of Fish and Chips Millers take that high standard to a whole new level.

Second visit to Millers in the last week due to crazy work days and craving a chip butty. First occasion was told no bread left a night before a busy weekend so left empty handed.Very friendly guy serving through the hatch tonight, placed my order and walked home with a paper bag bigger than most carrier bags. Got in and found this (see photos below).... portion of chips, bread roll, curry sauce and battered sausage - £6. Bread roll was literally 8cm across with barely a handful of chips (they don't do chip butties, you pay for separate portions). Was actually a brioche roll too, not a buttered bread cake. Curry sauce nearly cold, chips and sausage were warm and tasted fine.I don't think I've ever eaten a chip butty made with a biscuit sized sweet brioche and where a single chip covers the full width of the bread roll. Sorry, I know things are getting more expensive but this was amazingly bad value and I was the only customer in the place at the time. Just discovered my wife ordered fish and chips from here in February and the fish didn't even fill 2/3 of the batter and was dripping in oil.
