InstaVolt Charging Station

Mobile signal is poor around the area, but the charges usually work and will output ~50kw if your battery is empty enough to take it.Having a charger here is great, but be aware that they are turned off when the petrol station closes. This is usually 9pm, but sometimes it can be earlier.

Instavolt are always my go to chargers when I'm out and about all around the country. Called at these chargers today but only 1 working, rhs not! Still, managed another successful 20 minute charge on 2 sessions. Phone signal v poor in the area so could check for other chargers!!

Used these before and both usually very good however, both chargers are currently not working. The left one starts then stops with a ‘FAULT’ after about 1 minute. The right hand one, the card reader appears not to be working as it will ‘beep’ when a card is presented but go no further.

Sorry not working, as a Instavolt fan, I am disappointed! Send out the engineers to fix them

Both chargers not delivering charge via contactless. Both took £15 pre auth but no charge delivered, although both showing available on app. Don’t believe it, it’s fibbing.

Went out of my way to Divert to this site last night at 10:30pm with only 10 miles of charge left as a friend told me Instavolt were the best. The site was in darkness and both machines were out of use despite them showing as available on the Instavolt app!! Called the help number but was told it was not working and nothing could be done till the morning. I could have driven 5 miles to the Osprey charger in Morrisons but didn't want to take the chance at 11pm just in case that was not working too. Therefore, we had to stay the night in the Inn opposite till the morning at a cost of £89!. In the morning I checked and both chargers seemed to be working again so tried to connect but with no success. Again I called them, apparently the machine on the left was incorrectly numbered as number 2 and the one on the right as number 1. I was told this was a problem and both machines were not working. As it was now 9:30am I decided to try Morrisons Osprey charger which worked well. Turned out to be a very expensive experience!

Caution: RH charger is asleep… recommend you use LH charger…. A seat would have been a nice touch as it’s a long wait, but people in forecourt shop were nice and polite…

Don’t ever bother using Instavolt as non-UK resident.The idea was simple: the charger is along our route and we can have dinner across the street while it’s charging.The experience was abysmal. The charger didn’t accept any of our charging cards (Shell Recharge, Plugsurfing) and failed to work on any of our (NL) credit or debit cards.The customer service asked to install the Instavolt app or offered 5 kW to help us on our merry way. Both options are hilarious, as there’s barely any cellular coverage in that area, never mind the app isn’t available in a non-UK App Store! The 5 kW is a nice gesture and the only positive note of this story, but hardly of any use with the long trip we had planned.We ended up making a long detour to Ionity Chippenham. Thanks, we learned our lesson to only use European chargers from now on.

Charged to 75% then both chargers completely dead. Luckily I had enough charge. Won't be using instavolt again

When I arrived the right hand side was ICED. I used the LH side but the error message “Fault” appeared. The ICE moved off and the RH side started the charge. Would be better if the garage stopped ICE in the EV bays.
